    I had curiousity about that too, and then I found this interesting publication. A scientific study shows that Moths do remember events from their caterpillar stage. http://www.npr.org/templates/...

    I don't think they do. They are pretty butterflies now.They don't have time to remember being a caterpillar.

    Butterflies have such a small brain that I doubt if they remember life as a butterfly, much less being a caterpillar.

    I see that they DO retain short term memory-- but the caterpillars didn't retain the memory BEFORE transformation for very long either.
