These aren't your kid's Cracker Jacks with the little toys inside. This is a whole new ball game. Cracker Jack'd looks and tastes like the innocent molasses-flavored, peanut-covered popcorn snack -- but one thing's different: it has caffeine inside!

But bad news, folks. Ever since Frito-Lay, the company that makes Cracker Jacks, announced its plans for the same salty-sweet snack with a punch, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) reported that Cracker Jack’d will violate FDA regulations -- and demanded that the government take action before similar products pop up. Be honest: Would you be interested in caffeine-infused Cracker Jacks?

GAWKER.COM reports:
No longer satisfied with playing second fiddle to peanuts at all your sportsball games, Cracker Jacks is getting x-treme. They have created a new line, Cracker Jack'D, which contains caffeine and is meant to, yes, jack you up.

    I don't eat Cracker Jacks because of the refined sugar and corn syrup, but if I did, I'm sure I'd like the extra kick!

    I don't think any junk foods should be marketed to children or provided to children by their parents, though, whether Cracker Jacks (with or without caffeine), soft drinks, or candy. That's just setting them up for a lifetime of bad habits and poor nutrition that will be much harder to deal with later on.

    In answer to how it would be dangerous: Caffeine is actually a drug, and can be addictive. Also, Cracker Jacks are traditionally a snack for kids, and some parents made not see anything wrong with giving their kids caffeine-loaded drinks and snacks, but it can lead to trouble concentrating in school and because of that, they could fall behind. I'm not saying it's DUI dangerous, but the FDA had its guidelines for a reason.

    why do we have to put a 'punch' into everything?! Cracker Jack is fine just the way it is...It gives you a relaxation time out or a pick me up just munching on them. LEAVE THEM ALONE! Please.... :)

    Not so much dangerous, there is caffeine in coffee and a kid can buy that. It's just a bad idea putting even more drugs (beside sugar and corn syrup) in candy.

    Doesn't sound dangerous really, but I don't care, I would like them to have worth while prizes even if the price goes up. They used to have some cool prizes, and one out of a few dozen had something really cool. It was such a thrill seeing what the prize was, now it's such crap, my kid isn't even interested enough to open it most of the time.

    I wouldn't say that it sounds "dangerous" per se, considering we already have millions of coffee-drinkers, caffienated soda drinkers, Red Bull and Monster drinkers, but it just sounds stupid more than anything else.

    Caffeine with the cute little child-friendly kid on the box? Who came up with this caffeinated money hungry idea? Cracker Jack definitely needs to evolve but not with caffeine.
