I want to write it Soseki-style, but I'm at a loss how... Natsume Soseki already covered the entirety of the human condition. I might just write a science fiction novel instead...

One day , yes I think I would like to write but hate to think about how disappointed I would be if people thought it sucked .

Guess that is why as much as my friends begged me and even a published poet , I never felt brave enough to get my poems published ...........another life maybe

Everyone tells me my poetry is wonderful, but I always second guess my writing. I guess most writers don't see their work in the same way that others do.

Yes , your constantly striving for perfection and so disappointed when you do not reach it ,in your own eyes . My friends used to get very agitated by it and threatened to send them off but one look from me put a stop to that and a few harsh words .
I treasure a book of published poetry that I have had 20 yrs old and my work was shown by a friend to this poet , she came back with a signed copy and such encouraging words from him .
I think I need a swift kick up the backside ........ if other people believe in us and express it , then in gods name " why can't we see it ourselves "

Exactly. I actually hate telling people that I'm starting something, because while I know I need the push, I also like writing behind very closed doors. I recently told a friend that I used her name for my lead character in a story I'm doing, and she now commits herself to checking my progress daily. I love the encouragement, but I'm also audience shy. I'd rather have a bunch of strangers analyze my work than have a close friend read it, even if that does seem a bit backwards.

Yes me too I am very private when it comes to writing in any form especially poetry . Just me sitting under a beautiful tree in a park or a forest is enough to set my imagination on fire ( you know that rush you get ) and it gives me great pleasure to write the old fashioned way and put pen to paper .
If she is a good friend then she will understand that you find it difficult to work under such pressure , tell her in your own way her that you would like to show her once a week and it will ease your tension and she will have a lot more to read .
It does not mean that you have to see her once a week if you are close , just do what friends do have a laugh ,have a gossip about celebs and how awful that dress she wore on the red carpet was and put the world to rights sitting under a tree writing

I actually already am, I'm on the 5th maybe 6th chapter!

It's about Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves, Zombies, Super Natural Powers, and the end of the World.

There's going to be 4 books, all with up to probably 20 chapters!

Want a copy of it when I'm done Doc? XD

Yeah same problem I call it spinning plates with me as soon as I get an idea going , my brain is so active that I start another and another and if I want something finished I have to really focus . I would love to see this Cabbage Patch outfit because I had one of them when I was a girl adoption certificate and everything . My mum is waiting for a knitted cardigan but this time of year my arthritis kicks in at its worst and there is just no chance but she is patient and I have knitted her beautiful garments in the past so she knows they are worth the wait ,my great nan taught me to crochet such a delicate craft
