    yes - these shows don't focus enough on the music - original, good music at all.

    Not just shows like XFactor and American Idol. I think that reality TV in general is destroying our culture. It used to be that to become famous one actually had to accomplish something. Become a great actor, musician, artist, writer, athlete etc. Nowadays, thanks to reality TV, there are talentless media whores the world over becoming famous for no reason, while those with true talent are struggling to get recognition. Young people today now think that they are entitled to fame because they look up to talentless trash like Kim Kardashian. I weep for the future.
