I want and insist on my privacy. I've gotten along without it for this long, I think that I can get along without it in the future. Think of the costs that are added to the manufacturing of cars with all of the added electronics. One more thing that can break down. I will say that, for the most part, today's cars seem to be fairly reliable.
Yes onstar is a great system and has helped MANY people....however....If you want safety over LIBERTY, go ahead. Basically, since our federal government has fraudulently taken over GM, and GM owns OnStar, then you are buying into a system which can be assumed to contain fraud, and mismanagement of your freedoms.
I'm almost thinking that there will come a time when I'll have to disconnect the battery from my phone just to drive somewhere so I don't get tracked.
Things ain't smellin' too good in Paradise my friends!!
I hope you disable the GPS tracker on your cell phone also, I do that. Even when you have done that the instructions on my phones say that the police, FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, etc. can still track you without your permission or a warrant.
I leave my battery out of my phone most times when not in use and it is an older flip phone new phones like yours is the exact reason why I refuse to upgrade. I am sick of the intrusion..that includes cameras at just about every traffic light...this is no longer the home of the free it is the home of the watched and tracked..
It's a car. Transportation. How many times are you really going to need it. Besides when it screws up, more money to repair. I'll bet there is a monthly fee to keep it connected too.
OnStar is just another way the big brother can keep an eye on you and it is not free you have to pay rent for it. I know of people who got citations for violations that they did not even know they committed in the mail thanks to Onstar. If you think I am paranoid about Onstar and its Big Brother you should have sat in on the meeting that we had with the people from the State Government of California when they were telling us about all of the ways that they wanted to use systems like Onstar to spy on us and control everything that we did with our vehicles. Those people were over the top crazy and nuts.

Walmart was selling onstar systems for your car
