I can't rule it out, but it is my opinion that people wish to see the involvement of extraterrestrials because they simply grossly underestimate the intellect of ancient races and cultures.
Disagree. The Bible is an excellent source of anecdotal information. Maybe not/not always factual or historical, but certain cultural information CAN be gleaned from it.
Then, too, the 'Giants theory' is one of the few ideas which actually makes a modicum of sense. It certainly makes more sense than the notion that a bunch of slaves managed to hoist or pull those monstrous stones up the sides of the structure.
The question is absurd on its face. You wouldn't accept whatever evidence I provided, and both of us know it. For those who believe no evidence is necessary. For those who don't no amount of evidence will ever be sufficient.
IN ANY CASE, I didn't state my position as fact, but only offered it as one THEORY as to how the pyramids were built. Nice try, though. :->
Do you always come to the job site with the wrong tools? Read what I said again, only this time pay special attention to the following words: "IN ANY CASE, I didn't state my position as fact, but only offered it as one THEORY as to how the pyramids were built."
Obviously, only an idiot would state that the pyramids were built by giants as 'fact,' just as only a tool would demand 'facts' to prove a theory. If this were a debate, sir, you'd be losing. Worse, you'd be losing with no clue as to why. :-)
In my experience atheists are every bit as much into evangelism as Christians. Certainly not all of them to be sure, but enough to make the point.
Christians/other believers have the advantage, though, because we're aware of the emotional (and often puerile) motivations behind an atheist's FAITH whereas s/he is not. Most atheists live in denial. It's the only vector by which they can convince themselves of their own intellectual 'superiority.' People who are not aware of the underlying basis/motivation behind their own stance can readily be beaten in debate--like red-headed step-chillin' in fact. :-)
Atheists evangelize all the time. Some of them do so even more blatantly than Christians. You don't see ME using a cross as my avatar, do you? Consider that a 'hint,' Mr. 'Atheism Inside.' :-)
Oh, and atheism is MOST DEFINITELY a faith. Until you have facts on which to base your conclusions, a belief that no god exists is every bit as predicated on FAITH as a belief that one does exist. The only ones who cannot see this are atheists themselves. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.
Nimitz, I just love some of your posts! Your sense of style and presentation of words if awesome! I don't even feel like I need to post anything, I just like reading yours:))
Most of the atheists I have encountered state emphatically that there is no God. And they are as tenacious in their certainty as the most zealous deist.
I understand that, but as I say the majority of the self professed atheists would fall into the gnostic atheist camp. Few bother to declare themselves to be gnostic atheists, they simply refer to themselves as atheists.

I want FACTS.

So true, but they are not likely to admit to themselves, let alone their opponent, that they are losing.

No, in fact it is not. Atheism is a faith-based conclusion: there is no god. A lack of belief would be 'I don't know/care if/whether there's a god.
The latter portion of your statement is roughly correct.
Do you believe in santa?
