Do you think its ok for teachers to smoke pot?

I was thinking about this the other day because we have a few stoners at my work and they're awful at their jobs (often stoned at work). I was thinking, cigarettes don't affect your ability to do anything, so should weed be legal? But then I thought, alcohol is legal and you can't (usually) do your job or drive on alcohol.....so perhaps weed should be legal, but same restrictions as alcohol....but anyway, teachers should not be stoned at work but there's no reason they can't use weed at home....

As long as they do not teach while high, who will know or care? Several of my associates smoke pot, haha.

Though, that being said, I found out my fourth grade teacher smoked pot. She joked around with her T.A. about me being stoned and then came over to our house a little while later to partake.

Legally, it's not ok for ANYONE to smoke pot.

But as far as the laws of Mankind go its completely absurd to do what we do to people for having/using it. The Major issues Cannabis causes are legal problems. Backs up court systems and overworks the beat patrol to the effect they become bruits instead of peace officers. The police were respected when they stopped crimes now they are seen in a lesser light collectively because they enforce beyond the constitution. But they have to work that way because of the nature of drug transactions and consumption. Ditch making drugs illegal and focus on the crime it may result in and there will be plenty of officers to deal with the marginal spike in disturbances and crime as the population settles back into personal responsibility. drugs should be a personal choices talk like ''The Sex Talk'' not a spook story about damaged legal records and people going berserk. Give it the same rules and punishment as Tobacco or maybe Alcohol. Adults deserve to be treated as such. Sorry for the rant it isn't at you in particular : )

As long as you agree to treat drunks, overeaters and Rx abusers the same way that's not such a bad thought... But not all users are created equal and it seems you don't know much about Cannabis consumers do you..? You know what makes Cannabis users go into poverty a lot of times...? It's the criminal charge they got for having it.... oh they also take your right to vote ensuring only the sheeple like you are sounding like elect new leaders and control legislation. China sounds like the place for you if you salivate over corporal punishment... this is a free country when business criminals aren't importing drugs to bust the people who use them and make the sin revenue wheels go round. We don't make things in America anymore... instead we literally farm sick and stupid people giving them a steady supply of drugs, defective culture suggestion and unhealthy foods to ensure the rich never have to work because the poor always need assistance by design. Schools aren't underfunded because the money isn't there it's to keep the waves of sick and stupids rolling in for the exploitation From Cradle To Grave.

I believe it is fine for everybody to smoke, vaporize, eat, drink, or do whatever they want with marijuana in the privacy of their own home just like it is fine for people to open and drink a can or bottle of beer, wine or other spirits in the privacy of their own home. The fact that they are a teacher, plumber, electrician, politician, or any other occupation has no relevance at all, teachers are like anybody else they just want to come home and relax any way they chose.

As long it is not on school grounds.

...so long as they aren't putting their students at risk.
