Do you think Geek is the new 'Chic'?

Apparently, Geeks aren't shown as 'Geekish' anymore. That is, if you dress like one and aren't a geek yourself, but is one of the jocks/populars. Yet, if you're a true Geek and, especially, if you're the new one to join in a school, job or any other place, many will scold you. (There's irony everywhere.)
So, what do you think? Is Geek the new 'black' in stores for people today?
Being that at my school, many of the teenaged-boys' attire is shirts tucked into their up-rided pants makes me think that we're going all the way back to the 70s.
