Rumors are circulating that Facebook will soon file for an IPO, which basically means that the company is putting itself on the stock market, and the value that's being tossed around is $5 billion (though rumors before were valuing Facebook at a whopping $100 billion.) Do you think Facebook is worth it?

I think facebook is a quick fad basically for kids and will quickly run it's course. Everyone got excited about it when it first came out but I think the the excitement is ending. It Is something that is for kids basically. I have to give Zuckerberg credit for developing it and he is going to make a lot of money but all the people who are planning on getting into the ipo are going to be very sad as they see their money go bye bye very quickly. Kids will always like it i think but they aren't the ones that are buying the stock

It either can't or won't fix the problems, which is why I suspect it went public....they knew the writing was on the wall, people are leaving by the droves.
Gotta give Zuckenburg credit though, he knows when to hold em, and when to fold em.

This hilarious. All these people saying "no" aren't understanding the actual question at hand, and are just saying "no" because they hate Facebook. Look, I dislike Facebook and I don't use, but it is highly successful, not just financially.

Facebook is the biggest violation to privacy and tool for big brother since video survelience, and I deleted my account, and am seriously considering leaving SH for trying to imitate Facebook and Twitter instead of sticking with their original platform they started with in 2007. Its disgusting!

Yes

Probably more. The amount of market share dwarfs the competition with over 50% of the market. Some other venues have ended because of the loss of users to Facebook.

Off topic but still about the "New FaceBook"...

Right now would be a good time to remove everything you ever posted. FaceBook changes are going to be very dangerous for your privacy.

My neice was good enough to post this very helpful warning. And it goes like this:

"Hey everybody. As you all know, I like to keep my FB private except to those I am friends with. So if you all would do the following, I'd appreciate it. With the new FB TIMELINE on its way this week for EVERYONE. . . please do both of us a favor:

Hover over my name above. In a few seconds you'll see a box that says "Subscribed". Hover over that, then go to "Comments and Likes" and unclick it.

That will stop all our posts showing up on the side bar for strangers to see. But most important, it limits hackers from invading our profiles. If you repost this I will do the same for you."

I also belive you should remove all information you can on S.H. "K.I.S.S."
