Mitt Romney recently got booed at an NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) event when he told the audience that he would be the better president for African Americans. Do you think booing is appropriate at a political event?

If clapping and cheering is, then Booing is as well. This is America. Its free speech, and the first Amendment is there to protect all speech, popular and unpopular.

We've been conditioned to be far too "polite" these days, when we should be speaking our minds.

Most definitely YES! Some of them need to be put into their place and find out that their aids who have been privately boosting them up, have been fooling them.

Unfortunately, Mr. Romney's words do not match his actions of the past, or those of his Republican Party. The people in the audience were expressing their "freedom of speech" by sharing their opinions of Mr. Romney's speech at THEIR organization. Albeit, it may have been rude.

They were not rude. But it was romney who was rude to them. He knowingly went into an "Obama" crowd and spoke against our candidate. He should have addressed issues

oh, i agree with that 100% because he DOES NOT address the issues at all... at least not my issues *grins*

I really don't think booing is appropriate anywhere, but these people through the NAACP are classless people anyway. Booing and heckling are out of place no matter the cause and who is speaking. Romney had balls and class to go in there, and stood there while, the people of the NAACP, had there way. They are a strong liberal bunch and only want to see Obama take the course and win it. With people like these, we don't need to fuel the fire, but Romney give it his best shot. Like I said he has guts to go in there the way he did. He had his say and got out of there alive.

To Obama's supporters it is appropriate as long as it's not Obama who is booed, but one who runs against Obama.

I heard that speech, and the booing came in response to his position on the healthcare bill. The people quieted when he began to speak again, and they applauded whenever they agreed with a remark. They were a responsive and courteous audience.

    I. Say no becouse it really depends where the event is at. Out doors yes, they are open
    To booing or cheers.
Indoors it should be differnt, if you don't like what you hear, don't clap. If you do, then clap.

What it means to be an American. First Amendment and all that!! Romney deserves a

yeah like the bad job he did when he was called a liar at the state of the Union by Joe wilson. or when just a few weeks ago he was heckled by the media lol. Obama did a fine job quit being a partisan A-hole

What I find hypocritical is that when Obama was talking a few years back and one congressman stated loudly "You lie" that was unacceptable even to the point where the congressman was called racist. But I'm sure this was considered OK by the left.
