Abortion is the brutal killing of a living human being. We must end abortion and protect all innocent human life.

You are killing life. What if your mom killed you just because she didn't want you, then you wouldn't be here. And even if you had a crapy life and think you would have been better off dead there is a reason that you are alive and a reason you went through what you went through. I beleive that everyone should have a chance to live. And if you didn't want a baby then you should have thought about that before you agree to intercourse.

It should be illegal because it gives the false impression that abortion is a solution, a neutral or good choice, when it's a bad choice, clearly for the baby! for the mother, father, and everyone around them. As a society, we shouldn't even NEED laws to protect life, especially most innocent and helpless life! But alas, here we are. We also need to face the fact that the government is NOT neutral on abortion, only permitting it. They are promoting it as a good for society, especially with the HHS Mandate. Now we have the morning after pill given to young teens without their parent's consent. Those pills are huge doses of hormones found in contraceptives... contraceptives that had the levels reduced decades ago because of the extremely undesirable side effects... We, as a society, need to take a long look at what we've allowed and promoted all in the name of pleasure without consequence, avoiding difficulty at all cost as the highest goal, highest achievement.

No, if only because you're going to get a result like prohibition. Women are still going to get abortions, but these will be much more risky and dangerous, and may cause the death of the mother. If the abortion fails, the baby will be horribly marred. The only reason I want it to remain legal is because its safer for the mothers.

I've got news for you - the whole "dangerous back alley abortion" scenario is *big surprise* nothing more than one more scare tactic of the pro-aborts. It's well known that abortions that were taking place before abortion was legal took place in the very same doctor's offices that performed abortions after it was legalized. I'm not saying tragedies didn't happen where abortions were attempted in very dangerous circumstances. But that hasn't changed with legalization either. For instance, the number of deaths from abortion "complications" has doubled since 2008. Abortion isn't safe. Abortion inducing drugs are not safe. Contraceptives aren't even safe. But no one pays attention because they need their cure for the undesirable consequences of recreational, uncommitted sex.

Most people who want to make abortion illegal say that it's because they want to protect human life. When you ask them to support that and give free birth control, they say no because it's a form of abortion, because birth begins at conception. Okay, let's say that that's true. Why would you want to avoid giving people birth control then? It stops conception, so it would therefore prevent the need for abortion. People will then argue "but it's not 100 percent accurate so some eggs will get fertilized and flushed out, causing an abortion." Yes that is true. However, we learned in grade 8 health that out of 100 fertile women having unprotected sex (contraceptive pill), 100 of them will ovulate. 33 will get pregnant. Out of those 33,18% of them will have "natural abortions", meaning that 6 zygotes will die because of a hormonal imbalance. Mother Nature's way of keeping you from having a baby when your body thinks it can't handle it (lack of proper nutrients, stress, fatigue, etc.). On birth control, 6 out of 100 women will ovulate in any given month. 2 of them will get pregnant. Out of those 2. 100% of the zygotes will get flushed out.
    Conclusion:
    No birth control- 6 "deaths"
    Birth Control- 2 "deaths"

Interesting. Birth control pills prevent conception from happening in the first place, so you have less abortions if you want to say that abortion is killing a baby after conception.

Another point on abortion. The abortion rate is 29 per 1,000 women in Africa and 32 per 1,000 in Latin America- places where abortion is illegal in the majority of countries. The rate is 12 per 1,000 in Western Europe, where abortion is generally permitted. Thsi pattern is shown all over the world in other countries as well.

    Final Conclusion:
Illegalizing abortion is not shown to affect abortion rates. On the contrary, there are MORE abortions. People will always find a way to do it, mostly in circumstances that are extremely dangerous, often leading to death for the mother. I think that people should only be allowed to have abortions after a psychological evaluation, if they have a medical condition, or other things like that. However, if we changed the laws like that, I truly believe that contraceptive pills should be available everywhere, no questions asked.

I apologize for this being sort of unstructured :)

I DO NOT believe in abortion AT ALL, however I cannot make the call unless it's me. I can tell you I look down upon those who have abortions and feel no remorse, but it is what it is.HOWEVER, I will NEVER under any circumstances pay for an ignorant bitch to end the life of her child.
If it stays legal, that's sad. Depravity isn't cute, but don't send me the bill for a murder I had nothing to do with.

Everybody has free choice. And getting an abortion doesn`t make u a criminal.
Sometimes is for the best, like in this case: An 11 year old girl from my hometown was pregnant after beeing raped several times by a 61 year old neighbor! She got an abortion!
Does that make her a criminal,NO! Not in my eyes

Making abortions illegal won't stop women from having abortions, the same way that prohibition didn't stop people from drinking.

Abortion is the justified brutal slaughter of innocent children for mostly social reasons (only 1% of abortions are because of rape). In fact, many mothers die during abortions as well.

There are lot's of reasons why you could need an abortion. Medical reasons being it. Teenagers are the main one for this, unfortunately. It's stupid to get pregnant that young, but do they have to die for it? Most teenage girls' pelvises aren't formed properly yet, and they can't give birth. A c-section is EXTREMELY dangerous for a young girl to endure. Other reasons are a malnutritioned mother (serious birth defects in the baby), blood pressure or heart problems. In most cases, the mother can't carry the baby to term so either the baby, the mom, or both (depending on how advanced the pregnancy is) will die. If you just had surgery, it's also pretty much a death wish to carry a baby to term. Lots of women have to get abortions just to avoid dying. Lots of them are good, often married women who really don't want to get an abortion. I know a women who had 2 little kids and then she had a stroke. She's doing quite well now, but she found out that she was pregnant a while back. Her options where to quit her meds which had a 95% chance of killing her and her baby, or having an abortion. She chose to have an abortion. She said that there's not a day when she doesn't think about her lost baby, but that she's happy that her 2 daughters don't have to grow up without their mama. She realizes that if she didn't chose what she did, she was pretty much guarenteed to die and if she died, her baby would have died too.

If abortion was illegal then in this case 2 people would be dead and 2 little girls would grow up without their mama. Why is that such a good thing?
You're generalizing abortion when it's something that really can't be generalized. Some people do it without remorse, and that's bad. I think that they should require counseling and psych evaluations and all that stuff, but if you just ban abortion, think about all the kids who won't have their mama any more. Why is the life of an unborn bundle of cells worth more than a mother, auntie, sister, friend, and cousin?

Yes but we are a pile of cells as well, albeit a pile of cells with the ability to think and have feelings. I don't support abortion. Not completely anyways. But then again, I'm not in a position to have to make that decision for myself. I believe that something should change because they do make it way to easy for everybody to get abortions. I think that if they want to bring abortion rates down, they should do something to prevent people from getting pregnant in the first place. Sex education and free oral contraceptives for example. I just think that if you make abortion in itself illegal, you're taking options away from people who really will die without it. I don't like abortions, and I personally don't think I could ever do it.
I just don't think that someone disliking it should be able to take the options and rights away from other women.
Sorry if the last comment seemed a little strong :) I just feel very strongly about this. The women I mentioned in the last comment was asked by one of her friends if she regretted her decision. She said no. Not because she loved getting an abortion or anything like that, but because she had no other choice and she realizes that. She knows that if she didn't choose what she did, her baby would most likely still be dead, as would she, and her 2 kids wouldn't have a mother. However, word gets around town about how heartless she is because she can "just kill her kid". Some things aren't the way that they seem at first. :/
