I consider "swearing" as the taking of or making an oath which Is a sin, Matthew 5: 34-37.
I believe you're referring to the use of coarse language, which too is a sin. Eph 5:4.
I no longer do the former and I try to refrain from latter, which is commonly called "cussing", but old habits and a hillbilly upbringing is hard to overcome. If an occasional bad word slips out, I apologize and softly confess the sin to God ASAP and ask for His forgiveness. Thank God that it happens only rarely. and thank God for His amazing grace.
