The best part of defending personal liberty, it the ability it brings us to judge each other on an individual basis. So saying "I support organization X" uncondtionally may blind you to any wrongdoing it's members may participate in. Once something is sacred, it stops progressing, and once something doesn't progress, it's doomed to repeating the same mistakes again and again. All one would hope for is a strong military, something that is intrinstically strong is capable of handling scrutiny. If it's not, it's not the pillar of strength you're pretending it is.

Or someone who can use their brain. There are no blanket truths. Everything is open for debate. Just because it's a cultural taboo to not support the warriors, it should be a bigger cultural taboo to send the warriors out to get killed so rich CEO's can get a little richer, so Obama and his team can play politics with the lives of others, so wallstreet is comfortable with how haliburton is trading. Do I support them? like I said, as individuals.

I think the "government" would have a BIG problem getting our troups to stand on their side ,they would most likely go home and support their families ,i hope so anyway! I'm sure the "police" would have no problem killing the general population however ,it's what they do already!

Believe it or not miss Matttic you won't find a whole lot of military members that "are" a fan of war. We train every day we're on duty for a war all in the hopes that we won't be involved in one. We had a saying in SAC. "Peace is our profession but war is just a hobby." The very first part of that saying is what we all want but all the time knowing that if one comes out then we will go and do our job.
