Do you remember when children used to use "A MILLION DOLLARS" as if it was a big deal.

Yesterday I happened to be listening to two younger children in my community fighting over who would win the world series. I heard one child say "I'll bet you a gazillion dollars the Dodgers win."

It prodded me to thinking, remember when a million was a large sum and a billion was something unheard of?

I remember. Not that long ago, I still thought million dollars was a 'big deal'. Actually, I still do, just not quite the way I used to.

Things like that also remind me of times when kids actually played outside instead of video games all day, or when toys were actually made to last instead of being made of plastic.

Ah, the days of leaving in the morning, and being back by dark, without any concern for what was lurking around the corner, to be young again!!!
