Like my mother and my grandmother, I collected S&H; Green Stamps and Top Value Yellow Stamps at the grocery store after I paid for my groceries.

I saved them and was able to trade them in for some great baby items when I was pregnant with my son. It was worth the 60-mile trip to Macon, GA to trade them in.

Do you remember S&H; Green Stamps? or Yellow Stamps
(competitor)? Did you collect them? Where did you get them? Did
you ever redeem the books of these stamps? For what? How far did you have to drive to get to your stamp merchandise store? Do you
still have some of these stamps around the house, somewhere?

The Yellow Stamps is what we collected the most...We very rarely had green stamps but we traded them in for items in the store....

Got them from the local grocery store. It was called Penn Fruit and was in the Huntington Valley Shopping Center, part of Abington, PA. I got my 1st fly rod and reel from the redemption center on Castor Ave. in Philadelphia, PA. My friends asked me why I did the grocery shopping for my family, it was to get these stamps. What a memory!

My mother has 19 full books and 1/2 book of top vaule stamps. What are the value of those books? Can we do anything with them?

Look online for a retail store and contact them and see if you can do anything !! I was surprised to learn that there still are stores. I'm not sure of the value of the books. Have fun !

I bought a lot of good baby necessities for my son, too. They were a good thing, and boy did they help us save a great deal of money when we needed it.!

It would be nice if we still had them in our areas. I believe some areas still do have stamps of some kind.

My parents collected them, and we kids loved going to the S&H; Green Stamps store to redeem those stamps for camping equipment, lawn chairs, basket balls, sports items, toys, and countless household items. We kids were the appointed stamp-pasters, so it was fun to see a reward for our efforts.

i remember them quite well as the different crap you could trade them in for. some items would bring $ as antiques now. i suppose.

i used them as stick ons for a refrigerator when i was much younger. boy did i ever get it , for doing that!
i wasted good stamps!!! to make up for it we used to have a paper route and we would find them in the old newspapers people would throw out as garbage. so i brought them home and ended up with a new pair of skates!
bout all i can remember about them.
people throw garbage home ended pair skates bout remember s and h green stamps catalogue

I'll bet you did get it for pastin those stamps on the fridge! PS wasn't that glue yucky??

But, obviously redeemed yourself when you began bringing those trashed stamps home... got yourself some skates --- cool. "snap on" or booted?
