But I do rave someone who presents a good point, regardless of whether I agree or not. It is called good sportsmanship and proper etiquette, two increasingly rare commodities in this self-centered society..

Why? Praise from your adversary just about as high an honor you may expect to receive. Patton and Rommel were deadly foes, but they honored each other with their respect.

Because a rave is supposed to mean that either they agree with you or like what you say. If you rave me and then start an argument or a fight on the same post, then it's pretty hypocritical. And slightly confusing. If someone argues on a post of mine but also raves the post, I check to make sure they weren't just agreeing with me in a confusing way.

I only rave the comments I agree with but I tend to rave a lot. It's not like it costs you anything to do it and if it makes people feel good that's cool. I also rave my friends whenever I get a chance but I usually agree with their comments anyway. :)
