Losing a job is sad, but the march of technology means that certain jobs will become obsolete. Shoveling horse poo of the street was a pretty big job 100 years ago, then the car made that obsolete. Around the same time, people rode tall bicycles and made their living lighting gas-powered streetlamps. I'm sure a few lamplighters cursed the advent of the electric streetlight, but that's the way life goes sometime. Voicemail? The end of the "answering service." Cell phones? The death of payphones.

Old jobs die, new jobs in different fields take their place.

Well that brings me to my next gripe.......How in the sam haiiiiiiiiil do you expect them to know how to give change,,,,,,when most of them aren't hitting on all four cylinders? Let's not forget that they bring calculators to school that does their work for them.

Yes, that eliminates all of the mistakes made by the cashiers. They just need to have more available at more stores.

I think they are aggravating..... we already pay gold for groceries....then we check ourselves out and bag our own groceries.....!!
I like bagging my own...but if something won't scan or you have to find product codes.... call the attendant.... that can take awhile!

Yes I do except when people with huge orders and little brains get in them. They should be like the 10 items or less lines. For those that want and need to get in and out.
