I like to cook different things every week. My daughter is a vegan that eats fish. Marinara sauce with enough for her then meat added for the rest of the family with pasta, while other sauces don't use meat. If I have the time I make more complicated food like Coq Au Vin. Breakfast is the easiest to make, with most taking a few minutes unless I make home fries. Pancake will have strawberries or blueberries in season added. Rarely chocolate chip pancakes. French toast with cinnamon and vanilla.
Usually vegetables are fresh not canned. I tend to make it spicy, although adding hotter flavoring afterward. Broccoli rabe will get hot red pepper later or my son won't eat it. I do quite a bit of stir fry with terriaki (mirin wine a must) sesame oil and oyster sauce. My kids love fried green beans with spiced flour then egg and spiced bread crumbs. Another favorite is cauliflower or broccoli with cheddar & parmesan, sour cream, bread crumbs baked in the oven, tending to have them eat it up, while just blanched with salt & pepper does not thrill them. Stuffed artichokes, stuffed mushrooms also never have leftovers.
Broiled fish generally has garlic, lime or lemon, green onion, cajun spice, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, sage. I use seasoned bread crumbs with romano cheese on the side of the fish, oven for 15 minutes then under the broiler to brown the bread crumbs.
i love to cook but sometimes i made mistakes like thinking about Rosie Huntington whitey that i just push the vegetables too hard on the water. there is one part that sometimes i have this feeling that i can't control and that it is so strong on me through.
the food i cook was meat, carrots, fish that are very scary to look at, vegetables, and other foods that taste good.
Sometimes when it's my own idea, basically, and not just because I have to eat. And I like to do experiments with different dishes. But, again, it's not something I'd like to do every day, day in and day out, just when I "feel like it." See, I didn't have any children -- or even a husband, for that matter -- and so I never got into the routine of meal fixing. I think if I had had a family that I probably would not have minded the cooking. But we'll never know. But as far as for myself, again, yes, I do enjoy cooking, basically, just not all the time.
