Chapter 1
Finding Love and Making a New Enemy One day the greatest immortal goddess was born .She was the proud , daughter of Poseidon and the daughter of Amphitrite , Poseidon’s immortal wife . Zeus and Hades were her grandfathers . Hermes was appointed her godfather. Annalise was the future niece of Aphrodite . Apollo was her uncle . Artemis , goddess of the hunt was her aunt and so on . Every god or goddess who ever lived the twelve High Olympians and all the minor gods were all related to Annalise . The only goddess who claimed not to be related to Annalise was Athena . Each gave her special powers . But each gift gave Annalise life. She got magic from Hecate . Raising the dead from Hades . Phenomenal water powers from her parents Poseidon and Amphitrite, Stormbreaker , the Pegasus # 2 ,only bigger , better , faster , and more beautiful with fur as white as snow and eyes the color of ebony from Zeus , unearthly archery skills from Artemis … The point is that Annalise is the greatest hero to ever live even if she is a goddess . 1 Years passed , at the age of fifteen , right after the second great battle of the army of Kronos . Annnalise was also related to all the Titans. She went to Los Angels to meet her fate and her destiny. She summoned her love Garret Ashabranner, Son of Poseidon and a mortal named Sally Ashabranner. Finally, Garret arrived in L.A. (Hades’s Realm ) . She began showing off her skills. She began rising the dead. One million pegasi, Pegasus , Stormbreaker her horse who had fallen in battle ,several heroes Amy Beauregard , Samuel , Luke ,Lee Fletcher , Castor , Jane , Zoë Nightshade ,and several others . She walked toward Garret and she was about to kiss him but whatever the reason whether she got to close to Garret or Garret was a little afraid of her because of her powers he backed away from her. She sighed and ordered pegasi to locate half bloods near and far determined or not tell them fly to the right location sought. 2 Chiron appeared saying ,"Camp is too full and what on Earth most of the campers were already dead I thought ." She greeted herself, "Hello, I am the great immortal goddess ,Annalise, Daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite." Next thing I knew, Chiron turned to Garret and said, " well don’t you think you should be headed back to camp half blood hill?" Garret left on a pegasi . She did something quite nasty then from anger, " Dead and death shall be no more, stars about to align. Kronos shall rise and be just fine." Then she made Kronos swear on River Styx that he would do as Annalise said. She threatened, "Chiron get away from me or I will unleash Kronos" Chiron said interested now, " So now you can raise the dead?" " Revive Hercules." Annalise said , " I don’t think so , he’d get all the attention." " The time has dawned a new age of the real heroes." 3 Chiron insisted , " raise him." Annalise ‘s patience wore thin. She released Kronos and said, " I am not a bad person ,you are mine to control." "If you destroy every other Titan but Atlas who holds the sky yours is to control your own." She turned to Chiron saying , " I warned you , you best leave." Chiron left. Annalise soon heard how Kronos had trapped Amphitrite. Annalise arrived saying, " your promise is broken , Hyperion is still at large ; let our amends be dissolved ." " Return to Tarturus and never again shall you be botherus." Kronos died on the spot. She arrived at camp next through shadow travel to help she did this. Annalise said, " Cabins of children be of size and name; be done now before this camp looks untamed." " Let us dine on a rine of stone and diamond ;finding room ,room be found." " Undetermined now ;for determined is the wow," She smiled . " Aw, I almost forgot the stables ." " Room so large ; pegasi , centaurs , hellhound , and drakon at last merge. " Hello, again ,Garret ," she smiled. " May I talk to you ?" She asked. 4 " Absolutely," Garret said. She took his hand. She said, "This way." Together hand in hand they walked to the lake until they’d reached the bottom. She pressed her lips to his eagerly. It was the best underwater kiss ever. When you are children of Poseidon and you are in love what is the rush .We stayed there like that bodies interlocking kissing for hours . But being half human Garret got hungry. We rose from the water scaring a Nereid and several dryads on our way out . Nymphs screamed at us in fright and shock . We were not the least bit wet . In fact we were just the opposite - arms interlocked still kissing still perfectly dry. We walked to the pavilion ,dinner was served just as Garret had suspected. We were the only two at the Poseidon table. Suddenly someone kicked me. I turned around and someone said " Who are you?" Annalise said , " You don’t know me?" " I am the great immortal goddess , Annalise , daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite." " I have the gift of prophecy. " " What do you think you are doing , Bethany?" 5 Bethany said , " How did you know my name?" " Never mind !" " Can I talk to you ?" Annalise replied , " I already know what you are going to request and the answer is never." Bethany said , " You’d better ." Annalise said , "What are you gonna do ,kill me with your knife ?" " You can’t , I’m immortal , I will never die." " Besides ,I am way to fast for your speed Bethany." Annalise circled Bethany and within seconds she took Bethany’s knife and had the knife at Bethany’s throat and Bethany pinned to the floor . Annalise said , " Renounce your moronic so called claim to Garret ." Bethany replied , " Never, I love him!" Athena appeared , " What are you doing , Annalise ?" Annalise replied , " Tell , Bethany , she is crazy to just lay off my Garret ."
Athena turned to Bethany and said, " It is silly , but then again Bethany if you must ,She is immortal and impossible to kill." 6 "Even if you figured out how to injure her, She can heal herself quicker than you inflicted the wound." " She is also goddess of magic and medicine." " Her fatal flaw is wisdom, for the mighty Athena is the only goddess she has no relations to." Annalise said , " well technically you do you are just to stubborn to admit it ." Athena said , " How am I ?" Annalise said , " well, is it not so true you were created from the pit of Zeus’s skull and that Zeus is my grandfather?" Athena said , " You are so annoying and petulant when you are right ." " I will grant you no gift only this , your life is full of surprises you will never imagine, you will conquer them ,but you must take five companions on your journey to fulfill the next prophecy." " Five shall go east to Mount Tamplais to find Typhon out of chains. One will be injured in the place that lacks rain, the great goddess will prevail , after her betrothed shows the trail. A curse of Typhon a child of Athena may stand, and victorious is a goddesses magic on hand." Then Athena disappeared . Annalise looked at Bethany and said , " Forget it, I am not going to kill you ." " You aren’t worth it ." She gave Bethany back her knife and walked to the Poseidon cabin. 7 Bethany got up off the ground and walked to the Athena cabin. Finally ,she got there and walked in. Malcolm ,her half brother said relieved and shocked, " Annalise did not kill you?" Bethany replied , " No, she said I wasn’t worth it and she even gave me back my knife and then she just walked away like nothing even happened." Malcolm said , "I wouldn’t push her again , Bethany , next time you might not be able to return to this cabin." Bethany said , "She was asking for it though." Malcolm said, "Even if she was , she is a goddess and you are not ,be careful around Annalise ,she is absolutely lethal. Bethany said , " I will try ." Back at the Poseidon cabin , Annalise walked into the cabin . Annalise said ,"Garret , I did not kill , Bethany ." 8 Garret said , " Really but you were so mad at her." Annalise said , "As much as we hate each other now ,eventually Bethany and I will become best friends ;There will just be a lot of fights until we reach that stage and even as best friends Bethany and I will still have squabbles." Garret said , " What kind of squabbles ?" Annalise said , " Really petty ones." Garret said sarcastically, " Oh, joy." Annalise and Garret fell asleep . Annalise and Bethany endured endless the night sleeping thinking about the journey next afternoon. 9 Chapter 2 Holding Council and Preparing for a Quest The next morning Annalise called a Council. The council was held. Chiron asked , "Well , who are you taking on the quest ?" Annalise said , " I shall go of course, and I will take Garret Ashabranner with me." " He is strong and bears the curse of Achilles." Garret asked carefully , " How did you know about that ?" Annalise replied , " Well, as you know I bear my powers and gifts." " Apollo’s servant , the Oracle - Delphi gave me sight." "I can predict all and I know all." " As I was saying I wish Garret to come with me." she turned to Garret and said, "Do you accept my companionship?" He still looked stunned. Garret said, " But , I’m so… I don’t even know you yet…what if I mess up… what if I die … on your watch." 10 Annalise said , " Even if you do I can raise the dead so it’s no problem." Garret said , "Very well." " I accept." Annalise said, " Wonderful." Chiron sighed. Annalise said , " So that is two me and Garret ." " Even though we are not the best of friends , Bethany , has great knowledge and wisdom and I wish her to go. Bethany questioned , "Me, seriously ?" Annalise replied , "Of course ." Bethany looked shocked. 11 Annalise said , " Much as I hate to admit it I need your help, please , Bethany ." Bethany just stared at her. Annalise said , " Do you accept too, Bethany ?" Bethany was still clearly in shock. Annalise waited. Bethany said , " Are you positive , you hate me ?" Annalise said , "I don’t hate you Bethany …um… yet ." Garret shook his head. 12 Annalise said , "And for my last two companions…" Bethany said , " Wait I have not agreed yet." Annalise muttered , " Not again ." Bethany said , "Annalise you would have to lay off ,Garret." Annalise stood indignant and said, " What?!" Bethany just smiled at her. Annalise started to glow and her eyes became flames and she looked at Bethany with pure hatred and she was just about to vaporize Bethany when suddenly someone called out. Garret stood up and said , " Please don’t , Annalise ." 13 Annalise turned back to her normal self and said , " Very well if you wish it I will not kill Bethany ." Garret said , " Besides , Bethany , she is only my sister ." " There is nothing going on between us at all ." " So just chill down and go ." " We need you , Bethany ." " Please , help us ." Annabeth stood indignant and said, " I can’t believe I am saying this but I accept ." Annalise said , " Thanks ." " Now , continuing for my last two campers - first I will take Tiffany , Daughter of Zeus ." "She is my cousin , she is strong and sure footed and she has the very best confidence and courage of any other demigoddess I’ve seen." Tiffany beamed and said , " Then , I shall go ." Annalise smiled , " Great !" " One more camper I think you , Luke , deserve a chance at greatness to impress , Hermes , and show your true colors of bravery and loyalty ." Luke said , " Very well I shall go too." 14 Chiron said , " Wait ." " Are you sure you have already died once?" Luke replied , " And she revived me." "If she wants my company, help , and service that is what she will get." Annalise smirked at Chiron. A new voice shouted , "Hold on !" Annalise said , " What now ?" " What is it , Clarisse , Daughter of Ares ?" Clarisse said , " I want to go on this quest to …" Annalise finished , " … prove yourself to your father , Ares." " He had a gift most generous , invulnerability ." " He is the reason I am impossible to kill or injure." "You , Clarisse , if ever possible are probably the only one who would be able to injure me." Clarisse looked stunned , " Just because I’m , Ares’s , daughter?" 15 Annalise said , " Yes." " The prophecy said five but I suppose drakon slayer that I could see if , Delphi , would make an exception" "Where is , Chiron! " Garret said , " He has gone to the Oracle." " Look there he is ." Annalise said , " What did the Oracle say , Chiron?" Chiron said , "One extra shall come in arms and set free the half blood in yarns." Annalise said , " That settles it , Clarisse , you are coming ." Clarisse said , " Oh thank you , Annalise , you won’t regret it ." That evening Annalise used her special magic powers from Hecate to create six duffel bags each had $300 , food , water, wind canteens , changes of clothes , shoes , and toiletries and and magic items the invisibility hat and a whistle used for summoning pegasi . Next, she went to the stables to get her pick of pegasi . She took four strong flyers Guiddo, Blackjack , Porkpie , and Sugar. Pegasus for her love Garret Ashabranner , and for her , her beloved pegasi ,Stormbreaker .We met at the edge of the creek near Zeus’ fist. 16 Annalise said , " Come on you guys ." " Let’s fly ." 17 Chapter 3 Medusa, Manticore , and Titans, Oh My ! We stopped at a store along the way. Bethany insisted , " I sense darkness there is danger near." Annalise spoke up , "Are you 100% sure , Bethany ? " Bethany said , "Yes I am ." Garret said , " I think we are being followed ." Annalise said , " You are right ,Garret ." Bethany said , " Ahhhh………." Everyone ignored her. 18 Clarisse said , " Circle around and look down, I recognize this presence." Luke agreed , " Yes , Medusa , is close." Suddenly Clarisse brushed up against Annalise. Annalise screamed in pain , "Ow!" Clarisse said , " Are you okay , Annalise?" Annalise replied, " No ! " Clarisse reached down to help her up. Annalise warned , " Careful girl ." Clarisse said , " I barely touched you ." 19 Annalise said , " True enough." Clarisse said , " Then what is the problem?" Annalise said , " Your father is , Ares ." Clarisse said , "So what ?" Annalise said , " Without , Ares’ , gift of invulnerability I am weak ." " Girl , you could kill me ." Clarisse said , " But you are immortal ." Annalise said , " I can be thrown to Tarturus like Kronos." Bethany said , " Joy !" Everyone stared at her like she was a psychopath blonde . 20 Garret said , " That was totally uncalled for , Bethany ." Tiffany said , " You are crazy , Bethany ." Luke said , " I thought , Malcolm , already warned you about messing with goddesses ." Clarisse said , " Bethany , apologize to her before she vaporizes you." Bethany said , " I am never gonna apologize to her." Tiffany went over to Annalise and held out her hand . Annalise took Tiffany ’s hand and Tiffany helped Annalise up. Annalise said , " Thank you , Tiffany ." " Bethany , I’ll deal with you later ." Tiffany said , " When you say deal with you don’t mean killing her do you ?" Annalise said , " Not if you don’t want me to." 21 Tiffany said , " Really , you would not kill her just because I asked you not to? " Annalise said , " Yeah ." Tiffany said , " But why ?" Annalise said , " First of all you are my sister - cousin and second I already owe you a lot ." Tiffany said , " Sister ?" Annalise replied , " You will become my sister eventually." " Just not yet ." Tiffany said ," Real sister or just in behavior ?" Annalise said , " Real sister ." " We already act like sisters." Tiffany replied , " Yeah we do ." 22 Annalise stepped closer to Tiffany and Tiffany hugged her. Just then Medusa appeared . Annalise said , " I have got this !" " Dead and death unite , kill this monster without a fight ." She gently tapped Medusa’s neck with her sword and , Medusa , exploded into flames and dust . She turned to her friends who were all stone except , Garret . " Oh my gods !" Annalise said . " Stone of steel become as jello, let the heroes once again be themselves and say hello ." Garret looked at Annalise with pure admiration - right then he fell in love with her. Annalise said , " I dislike this trail we should go straight east like the prophecy said ." Bethany said , "Like your skills are any better ! " Annalise said , " How dare you challenge my gift of right paths given to me by , Janus , the minor god ! " Bethany said , " Oh , fine then ." 23 Annalise said , " Fine , Come on let’s go ." "I’ll give you a chance I hope , Manhattan , is supposed to be our first stop." " Let’s go ." Clarisse said , " Our pegasi are exhausted." " Perhaps , we should eat something and let them rest ." Annalise said , " I don’t think so ." " We must stop , Typhon." Garret said , " I am with , Annalise." Annalise laughed. Clarisse said , " Are you sure ? " " If we need a break we can have one can’t we ?" Annalise said , " Certainly ." " Pegasi , return to camp , all of you , when you get home treat yourself to hay , oats , apples , and sugar cubes ." Then the pegasi flew off into the sunset . My companions went into the Smithsonian and I was about to follow but suddenly I sensed a evil presence . I turned around and saw the manticore. I put my invisibility hat on and followed the manticore to yet another museum. I was shocked by what I 24 saw about a dozen mortals, two reptilian women called dracaenae, between them was Kronos ,beside him was Hyperion, the Titan of the East. Hyperion said , " Are they here ? " Then he laughed . " They are falling straight into our trap." Annalise said , " You will never get away with it, Hyperion." Annalise took off her invisibility hat and charged Hyperion. Hyperion dodged her first strike but the second time Annalise jumped him and said , " Magicas Shackalas ." She secured Hyperion and said , " What plans ?" Hyperion said , "I am not telling you anything ." Annalise said , " You have no choice , even Kronos can’t beat me , I am invulnerable ." Kronos threw a knife that landed right in Annalise’s heart. Annalise pulled out the knife , " Fools I would kill both of you but you aren’t worth my time." " Tell me what I want to know." 25 Hyperion said , " We are sending a skeleton army and a playmate to destroy your friends." Kronos grabbed Annalise and tore part of her shirt off. Annalise said , " Idiots !" " I will kill both of you later ." " Right now I am needed elsewhere ." Annalise disappeared. 26 Chapter Four We Get our Own Cars While Skeletons Chase us Annalise ran into Tiffany literally. Luke and Bethany had their swords pointed at me until they saw who I was . Luke quickly put back his knife but Bethany didn’t look happy about lowering hers but she finally did . Clarisse put her hand off Annalise quickly. Garret looked relieved , "Oh , Annalise , you are alright . Garret looked at her and saw the alarm in her eyes and asked , " What is wrong , Annalise ?" Annalise said , " Kronos , and , Hyperion , are here and they have a skeleton army with fifteen warriors and they have my scent ! " Tiffany straightened and the shock and anger melted from her eyes and she tapped Ageis her charm bracelet and said , " Run !" 27 A Nemean lion suddenly started chasing them but Annalise killed it and they kept running until they reached a cliff and they jumped 2,000 ft. into the water. Garret and Annalise’s power protected them as they fell into the water. Garret yelled , " We need to change track ." Annalise said , " We should contact camp ." Bethany said , " We should get in those cars over there ." Annalise and Garret bunked together in a Mustang Convertible. Tiffany bunked by herself in a 2008 Porsche. Bethany took Luke with her to a Mercedes. 28 Clarisse joined Tiffany and said , " Do you think , Garret , is safe and all , I mean being with , Annalise , now is very dangerous ,after all the skeleton army does have her scent …Why do you look scared driving? Tiffany ’s eyes got dangerously bright and she said , " Hey , Clarisse , do me a favor , get out of my car." Clarisse did and she bunked with Bethany and Luke instead . Bethany said , " We should seek out , Nereus ." " He sees and knows all ." We arrived in the outskirts of New Mexico . We got out of our cars because they were out of gas . We had only five days to stop Typhon or the world would cease to exist and the gods would be destroyed. None of us liked the sound of that at all . 29 Tiffany said , " Let’s get a bite to eat ." They ate and then they asked how do we get to Alamogordo . The cook replied , " You could summon a taxi but it would take hours to get here ." Annalise said , "Come on !" Everyone followed her out of the restaurant . Annalise said , "We can do something else too." " Dig in your duffel bags I packed a pegasi whistle for everyone ." Everyone did and soon the pegasi would arrived . Garret said , " I hope we find a way to Mount Tamplais soon ." Tiffany agreed , "Yes , we must stop , Typhon ." 30 Luke said , " We should do a tracking spell ." " Annalise ? " Annalise said , "Very well ." " Paths of life and day , show us the way ." Suddenly Luke fainted . Bethany rushed to his side and asked , " Luke , are you okay ? " Luke murmured to her , " I think so ." Annalise said , " We have to get out of here ." They ran to their pegasi but before they got there the first two skeleton warriors appeared. The skeleton warriors drew Ak -47 guns . Garret said , " I’ll admit it they do look cool ." 31 Tiffany tapped Aegis. Garret drew Riptide but they didn’t draw back . Bethany drew her knife . Clarisse brought out her electrical spear Maimer. Luke drew out Backbiter . Annalise said , " Back up ." But then two more appeared . One of them produced a phone . Then we panicked . He was calling his brethren . Clarisse said , " We have to attack them ." Annalise insisted , " They can only be destroyed by children of Hades ." 32 Garret said , " We need Nathaniel or Jane ." Annalise said , "I’ll take care of it ." " They are after me." Tiffany and Garret protected the front and back of Annalise while she summoned the children of Hades . Jane and Nathaniel soon killed the skeleton warriors . Garret said , " Plan?" Annalise said , " Yes , take to the sky on pegasi ." " Don’t worry , Garret , I won’t let , Zeus , shoot you out of the sky ." Tiffany laughed at that . Bethany said , "Not funny , Zeus , hates , Garret ." Annalise said , " Get on your pegasi and follow us ." 33 Tiffany screamed , " No!" Tiffany turned as white as ice and she looked like she was about to faint . Annalise got off her pegasi and knelt down beside Tiffany and said , " Are you alright ,Tiffany ?" Tiffany murmured , " No , I am not ." Annalise said , " You are afraid of heights . " Tiffany ’s eyes got dangerously bright for a demigoddess anyway and she looked like she was ready to strangle Annalise but she simply said , " Don’t be stupid ." " I swear if you tell anyone about it …" Annalise said , " No it’s okay ." " It is just a little weird ." " A daughter of Zeus , lord of the sky , afraid of heights ." " Come on nothing will happen to you ." Tiffany got on her pegasi and said , " I hope you’re right ." They rode the pegasi until sunset ; which exhausted them . 34 Chapter 5 We Take on the Junkyard We saw a sign that read , " Gila Claw , Arizona ." We decided we would take on the junkyard tomorrow. We camped down for the night . Suddenly the headlights of a car appeared . Garret said , " Maybe its , Apollo , with his sun chariot ." Ares stepped out of the car and said , " Hello , Annalise ." " I want to talk to you ." Annalise said , " Sure ." 35 Tiffany said ," What are you doing here , Ares , and who is in the car ?" Ares said , " My girlfriend ." Tiffany said , " But you are married ." Ares said , " Go get something to eat ." Annalise went inside the car and saw Aphrodite . Aphrodite said , " Ah , there you are , Annalise ." Annalise asked , " Why are you here ?" Aphrodite said , " Typhon , has broken his bonds ." " You have only four days before ,Typhon , reaches , Olympus , and destroys the gods ." " If that happens the Western Civilization will end and the Titans will dawn a new age - the Golden Age - the reign of the mighty Titans . 36 Annalise mused , " That sounds bad ." " But as the prophecy says the great goddess will prevail ." Aphrodite beamed , " Exactly !" " I’m with you , Annalise ." " That is why I am here ." " I trust you ." Annalise said , " What ?"and got out of the car. Ares said , " You are lucky I don’t fight around girls ." Annalise said , " You couldn’t beat me anyway ." Ares said , " I’m the only one that can ." Then Ares disappeared . Tiffany said , " What happened ?" Annalise said , " Aphrodite , warned me of , Typhon ." They reached the junkyard next morning . 37 Annalise said , " Don’t touch anything ." " This is the junkyard of the gods ." " Stuff here is either cursed or defective ." But Luke did and Talos came after us. Annalise said , " Luke throw it down ." Luke did but Talos didn’t stop . I had an idea . I ran toward Talos and aimed for his head - his only weak spot . She leaped but missed and his knife cut her throat . Annalise was a demon the wound didn’t even seem to fizz her . 38 She leaped again higher this time and landed on Talos’ arm which she used as an anchor and jumped at his head and Talos exploded into dust . Garret ran to her side and said , " Are you okay ?" Annalise replied , " No !" Then Annalise turned around and saw Clarisse dead . Annalise said , " Rise , Clarisse ." Clarisse rose and said , " Sorry , when you look at him he takes away your life aura and power and makes it his own ." Annalise said , " It is fine ." " You couldn’t help it." 39 Chapter 6 First Kiss in a Canoe Annalise found a car and she drove to the ocean . Then they got out and got in two canoes . Annalise said , " Tiffany , can you take everyone but , Garret ? " " I want to talk to him ." Tiffany said , " Sure , I owe you one ." Annalise smiled , " Two actually ." Tiffany said , " One and a half ." I smiled Tiffany was so cool when we weren’t angry at each other . 40 Annalise got in a canoe with Garret . Annalise said , " Garret , I can not tell if it is for real or if it is a game ." " Do you really love me ? " Garret said , " Of course I do , Annalise ." " You are impossible not to fall in love with." Annalise said , " I love you too , I always have ." Garret leaned in closer to Annalise . Annalise said , " Oh , Garret , what have you done with me ?! " Garret pressed even closer to Annalise . Annalise pressed her lips to Garret ’s and they kissed . Tiffany said , " Annalise , Garret , we are at Hoover Dam ." 41 Annalise stopped kissing Garret . Garret said , " My love your hair is a mess ." Annalise said , " Only cause I’m crazy in love with you ." Tiffany was in our canoe . Don’t ask me how . Garret ignored everything and he kissed Annalise back . Tiffany said , " Annalise , don’t make me get , Bethany ." Annalise said , " Go away ." " You are so annoying ." Tiffany said , " I am not ." Annalise said , " No , you aren’t ." 42 Garret and Annalise finally stopped kissing . Annalise said , " Tiffany , don’t tell , Bethany , we are in love or else ." Tiffany said , " Or else what ?" Annalise said , " Or I will have no choice but to kill , Bethany ." Tiffany said , " Fine , I won’t tell ." " Now come on !" 43 Chapter 7 Sybaris’ Children Try to Kill Me and My Friends Annalise and Garret followed Tiffany until they were on a bridge . Bethany said , " Let us find the damn snack bar." " We need to eat something ." Luke started laughing and said , " The damn snack bar ? " Annalise , Garret, and Tiffany got there . Bethany said , " Yes , what is so funny ?" Clarisse said , " You don’t get it ." Luke said , " Its nothing ." " I could just use some damn french fries ." 44 Clarisse laughed at that . Tiffany said , " And I could use the damn restroom ." Garret started cracking up . Bethany who was still confused said , " What’s so funny ?" Luke said , "I want to use the damn water fountain ." Tiffany said , " And I want to buy a damn T-shirt ." Annalise started busting up at that . Garret stopped laughing and said , " I hear a cow ." Annalise stopped laughing too . 45 Tiffany asked , " A damn cow ? " Garret said , " No , I’m serious ." Tiffany said , " I hear nothing ." " Are you okay , Garret ? " Garret , " I just need a minute alone ." Everyone left but Annalise. Annalise said , " Garret , you aren’t going crazy ." " I can see and hear Bessie - the Ophiotaurus - too ." Suddenly two skeleton warriors appeared . We ran after our friends straight through a metal detector but we ran on . Soon we surrounded by skeleton warriors . 46 Annalise put a shield around her and Garret . Annalise grabbed Garret ’s hand and they bolted straight ahead right into two skeleton warriors who broke into a million pieces . They went into the bathroom . Annalise transformed into a thirteen aged teenager with green eyes and black hair . Annalise went out of the bathroom and screamed , " Oh my gods !" " They had knifes and they tried to kill me ." " They went that way down the turbine things ." The skeletons chattered in excitement and went in that direction . Annalise ran back to the bathroom and grabbed Garret and they ran to the café . Annalise and Garret walked up to them . 47 Tiffany said , " Who is with you , Garret ?" Garret said , " Annalise , of course ." Annalise waved her hand and she was her normal self again . Annalise said , " Come on , we have to get out of here ." " Skeleton army alert !" Annalise cast out a shield protecting her and her friends . Skeleton warriors - all eleven of them surrounded us. Two of them came at us but then bounced back and broke into pieces . We ran out that way . Annalise said , " Connect hands ." 48 Annalise focused on her gift from Danae - flying - and then she jumped off a cliff . Tiffany screamed , " Tell me when it is over !" Annalise flew down to the top of a mountain . Annalise said , " It’s over, Tiffany ." " You can open your eyes now ." Tiffany opened her eyes . Suddenly we turned around and saw the manticore . Annalise had an arrow aimed at his chest . Garret yelled , " Annalise , wait , they have guns !" Annalise reluctantly lowered her bow . 49 The gun couldn’t hurt her but it could kill her friends . The manticore turned to Tiffany and said , " Tiffany , you will sacrifice the Ophiotaurus ." " You will gain unlimited power ." " You will overthrow Olympus." " Kronos offers you a better deal than the gods - the world ." " Zeus cares nothing for you on your last stand on half blood hill he sent no help ." " He let you die ." " Call the beast ." " It will come to you ." " Use your spear ." Tiffany hesitated . Annalise said , " Tiffany , snap out of it ." " You won’t destroy Olympus ." " You won’t kill me ." " We are cousins ." " Your gonna be my sister soon ." " Tiffany , please !" " Don’t listen to the manticore ." " He only wants Olympus to be destroyed ." " He cares nothing for you ." " We do care about you Tiffany ." " We are your best friends ." " Help us , Tiffany , please ." " We need you ." Tiffany looked at Annalise then the manticore . Annalise said , " Tiffany ." Tiffany said , " I don’t know … I can’t … I don’t … I …" 50 Annalise looked desperately at Garret and Bethany who nodded . Then Garret and Bethany attacked the guards one - on - one . Annalise did a quick spell , " Arrows of every kind appear, so my monsters will die now and here . She shot at the manticore who wailed in pain and exploded into dust . Then Annalise ran to a water fountain and said , " I’m contacting camp ." She cut off the top of the water fountain and Tiffany was doused in water . Tiffany said , " Are you crazy ?" Annalise said , " I need a drachma ." Garret handed her a drachma . 51 Annalise said , " Oh , Iris , mighty goddess of the rainbow , show me camp half blood ." The mist shimmered . Dionysus appeared . Annalise said , " Dionysus , we are about to die , help us ." Soon we were surrounded by skeleton warriors . Kronos said , " Kill them but spare the daughter of Zeus - she will be further bait ." Tiffany said , " You’re crazy ." Then Dionysus appeared and the skeleton warriors melted on the spot . 52 Chapter 8 Defeating Typhon Annalise said ," Thank you , Dionysus , you saved us ." " Wait , he may have once been bad chasing nymphs and such now free him of duty to half bloods at camp he is no longer a foe ." Dionysus looked no different he said , " Is it really true can I finally return to Aridnae ?" Annalise said , " Yes , Dionysus but you do owe me one." Dionysus said , " Anything ! " Annalise said , " We need transportation to Mount Tamplais ." Dionysus waved his hand and a portal appeared . 53 As one they connected hands . They went through the portal and arrived on Mount Tamplais . Annalise said , " Garret and I will create a diversion ." Garret said , " Bethany , take aim for Typhon’s head ." Annalise said , " Tiffany and Luke shoot arrows at Typhon’s mouth ." Garret said , " Clarisse , take to Typhon’s feet ." Everyone agreed they would go on three . Annalise said , " one… two… three… attack !" 54 Annnalise and Garret combined their powers and created their own personal hurricane , typhoon , tsunami , tornado shield on Typhon . But as soon as Bethany hit Tyhon’s head things went wrong . Typhon’s eyes glowed red and he said , " Twenty years ago it has been since the last one suffered a fate worse than death ." " The strings of death suffocated him ." " The Fates placed a curse on me ." " Thou head of danger reap , when touched the victim must fall into endless sleep ." Then yarn appeared at Bethany ’s head , waist , and legs . Bethany thrashed wildly trying to get free but the more she moved the more yarn wrapped around her . It got tighter by the minute . Bethany screamed and the color drained from her face . She turned as white as a sheet . 55 Annalise screamed , " Clarisse , you are destined to free the half blood in yarns ." Clarisse rushed to Bethany ’s side and cut the yarns . The color returned to Bethany ’s face . Luke yelled , " Are you okay , Bethany ." Bethany said , " Yeah , I’m fine ." Then Bethany fainted . Annalise said , " Typhon , cursed a hero’s blade will reap and Typhon will die and land in Tarturus in a heap ." Everyone aimed their swords at Typhon and charged . As soon as they hit Typhon ; he started dissolving into dust and piece by piece he was thrown back into Tarturus . 56 Chapter 9 Back at Camp Then to a New School They arrived back at camp . Garret and Annalise went back to the Poseidon cabin . Annalise said , "We completed our first quest but there are many more to come ." " It all makes sense now we did go east and found Typhon out of chains ." " Talos took Clarisse’s essence and power so when he hit me with his knife a wound was inflicted in the land with no rain ." " I did prevail and you showed the trail ." " Bethany had to stand for Typhon’s curse when she was wrapped in yarns but Clarisse freed her ." " My magic did destroy Typhon ." Garret said , " Oh , Annalise , you talk to much ." Then he pressed his lips to Annalise’s and he kissed her . Suddenly Bethany walked in and said , " What I thought there was nothing going on between you ?!" " Die , Annalise !" Bethany screamed and brought her knife down on Annalise . 57 Annalise took out the knife and she kept kissing Garret like nothing happened . Annalise gave Bethany back her knife and took Garret ’s hand and together they walked out of camp . Annalise bought them a mansion . They lived together already . They were deeply in love . Sally Ashabranner , Garret ’s mom visited us frequently and often she brought her boyfriend Paul Gregory with her . We both liked Paul , he was kind, smart , generous , and somehow still very fatherly and understanding even tolerant about us kissing , doing it , and sleeping together , and everything else . One day Paul told us about The Goode Academy a school he worked at . 58 Despite the fact Annalise had never gone to school and Garret has been kicked of every school he had ever gone to the headmaster of The Goode Academy had agreed to accept them for 10th grade .
They both thought it was a great idea so they decided they would go to orientation . Garret said , " I have bad experiences with school ." " At my favorite school Yancy Academy a private school for troubled kids in upstate New York I destroyed a Kindly One ." " In my 5th grade school , when we went to the Saratoga Battlefield I had this accident with a revolutionary cannon ." " I was not aiming for the school bus but of course I got expelled anyway ." " And before that at my 4th grade school we took a behind - the - scenes tour of the Marine World Shark pool , I sort of hit the wrong lever and the class took an unplanned swim ." " And before that … well, Annalise , you get the idea ." Annalise said , " Relax , Garret , it is only orientation ." "Let’s just try not to destroy it after all this is Paul’s school ." Paul Gregory was out front greeting future 10th graders . Paul looked like some TV actor or supermodel or something like that but he definitely did not look like an English teacher . He had salt and pepper hair , denim clothes , a leather jacket , and he always wore Converse . 59 Annalise said , " We’d better go inside ." But then we saw Rachel Elizabeth Dare and we went to the side entrance instead . But two cheerleaders were standing guarding the doorway waiting to ambush future 10th graders . One cheerleader said , " Welcome to Goode !" " You will so love it!" " So what are your names ?" Annalise said , " I am , Annalise , and this is my boyfriend , Garret ." The other cheerleader said , " Oh , children of Poseidon , we have been waiting for you ." Then Paul came down the hallway. We said , " Hi ." And we went into the gym for orientation . 60 Someone grabbed Garret ’s shoulder . Garret said , " Rachel Elizabeth Dare ." Rachel said , " What are you doing here and who is that ?" Garret said , " Same as you I guess orientation ." Annalise said , " Hi , I’m Garret ’s girlfriend , Annalise ." Rachel said , " Garret , I thought you were in love with , Bethany ." Annalise said , " You are lucky you are mortal ." Rachel said , "What are you anyway a half blood ?" Annalise said , " I’m no half blood , I am a goddess ." 61 Rachel said , " Run !" We followed her out of the gym and together we ran into the band room. It was incredibly stupid and childish but we hid behind some tubas. Annalise said , " How many are there ?" Rachel said , " Two." Garret said , " You mean the cheerleaders ." Rachel nodded. Annalise said , " What are they ?" Rachel said , " I don’t know , their face is as white as ice , their lips are bloody red , and their feet one is a horse foot and the other is bronze and their eyes are stormy green ." 62 Annalise said , " Someone is coming ." One cheerleader said , " Hi guys ." " My name is Tammi and this is Kelli ." Rachel said , " Run , now !" Kelli gave me and Garret an amused smile like she wanted to see what we would do next . Annalise produced several arrows . Garret got ready to pull out Riptide . Rachel screamed . Annalise said, " I am the great immortal goddess , Annalise , daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite." " Back away she demons !" 63 Suddenly Tammi began walking toward us . The empousai had trapped us . Annalise and Garret knew they would have to fight . But Garret looked dazed like he was distracted by Tammi’s glistening teeth . Her eyes were petrifying him . Annalise said , " Garret ." " Snap out of it ." I could see it took all Garret ’s will power but he took his pen out of his pocket and uncapped it . Riptide a lethal three feet of pure celestial bronze . Tammi walked toward him and said , " You don’t need that how about a kiss instead ." 64 Annalise said , " She wants to bite you , Garret ." " Look at her ." At the last minute Garret seemed to regain control . Garret said , " Get back ." He swung his sword . Tammi’s teeth grew into fangs. Annalise said , " An empousa ." Garret was paralyzed . He could not move . Annalise jumped in the way and grabbed Riptide . Annalise said , " Get back or I will kill you all." " Hecate , herself is related to me , beggone ." " Take one step toward Garret and your heads will be sliced from your shoulders ." 65 Tammi lunged at Garret . Annalise screamed , " No !" Annalise slashed at her with Riptide . Tammi tried to dodge my strike but I sliced her head right off . Tammi exploded into dust . Kelli yelled , " You killed my sister for that you must pay ." Kellli was a lot faster than Tammi . She dodged my first strike and rolled into the brass section and she knocked over several trombones . Rachel screamed . I put myself between Rachel and Garret and the empousa . 66 Then the empousa exploded into flames catching the building on fire . Annalise used her power to dose Garret in water and undaze him . Garret looked at Annalise . Garret said , " Are you alright ?" He ran to her and hugged her . Annalise stepped forward and kissed Garret . Annalise said , " I am fine ." Garret kissed her again . Rachel said , " Two lovebirds ." Annalise’s eyes got dangerously bright and her skin began to glow and she looked ready to vaporize Rachel but at the last minute she regained control and said , " Do 67 you have a problem with that , Rachel Elizabeth Dare ?" Rachel said , " No , but the building is on fire ." Annalise looked at Garret and said , " Take my hand ." " United we stand , take us outside this building hand in hand ." 68 Chapter 10 Tiffany Visits our Mansion We literally were right outside the building but we landed on top of Tiffany . " Sorry ," we said together. We got off her . Tiffany said , " You are out of orientation early ." Annalise said , " Yeah ." Tiffany said , " What happened ?" Annalise said , " There were these two empousai disguised as cheerleaders who tried to kill us but I killed one …" 69 Annalise said , " Tiffany we have to get to camp ,can you drive ? Tiffany said , " I’m sorry I don’t have a car with me ." Garret said , " I have an idea ." " Why don’t we go to the house , Annalise ." Annalise answered , " Why ?" Garret said , " We can swing by and pick up one of the cars . Which should we take ?" Annalise said , " We’ll take the Camaro ." Garret said , " Okay ." Annalise said , " Join hands and make a circle ." They did . 70 Annalise spoke a spell . Annalise said , " Take us to the house where Annalise and Garret live now , so we may get a car on the go ." A portal appeared . Annalise said , " Get in ." And they did . Within seconds they arrived in a new location Annalise’s and Garret ’s house . Tiffany said , " Wow ! Nice house ." Annalise said , " Thanks ." Garret said , "You want a quick tour . " 71 Tiffany said , " Yeah , I do ." Annalise said , " Come on ." Garret said , " We’ll do the backyard first ." Annalise said " This is our garden ." Tiffany murmured , " It’s beautiful ." Annalise said , " It has every fruit and vegetable and flower in the world ." Garret said , " This is our Olympic sized underground swimming pool ." Annalise said , " And our gorgeous pond full of every kind of fish ." Garret said , " And of course the patio with a stainless steel grill ." 72 Annalise said , " And a hedge of every kind and a tree of every kind ." Garret said , " The golden gate which we have to pass to get to our temple of statues of the gods , all of them and in the middle are Poseidon and Amphitrite ." They kept going through another golden gate . Annalise took Tiffany’s hand and led her toward the stables . Annalise said , " And there is my pegasi Stormbreaker and Garret ’s pegasi Pegasus ." Garret said , " Behind the stables in a large field with Mrs. . O ‘ Leary , the hellhound that I inherited from Daedalus ." Annalise said , " Next to him is my prized possession from the Titans , an Athenopian drakon , the only one in the world that is friendly ." Garret said , " Past that is our enormous garage with a Harley , Mustang Convertible , Porsche , Mustang , Camaro , Ferrari ,Convertible , Limousine , Cadillac ,Escalade , 73 and several other cars ." Tiffany said , " Gee , you don’t drive either you kind of just use magic to get everywhere ." Annalise said , " In my defense I do have a drivers license ." Garret said , " And so do I ." Tiffany said , " Then why don’t you drive ." Annalise said , " We don’t have to waste gas ." Finally , they arrived at the side door of the house . Annalise opened the door and said , " This is our breezeway and beyond that is the mudroom ." Garret said , " And don’t forget the salon , the theater , a massage room , and an enormous closet with designer clothes for both me and Annalise ." 74 Annalise said , " And a room full of every kind of shoe , a room full of crowns with rubies, diamonds , and pearls , and gemstones of every other kind ." Garret said , " Her room full of jewelry of every kind , necklaces , bracelets , chokers , anklets , earrings , and rings ." Annalise said , " My room full of hair accessories - barrettes , clips , headbands , scrunchies , hairbrushes , hair straightners , curlers of every kind of type and color ." Garret said , " A room full of pets a tiger , wolves , a lion , snow leopard , elephant , and every kind of bird ." Annalise said , " An aquarium full of mythical sea creatures and normal animals of the ocean of every kind ." Tiffany , " Your house is beyond beautiful ." Garret said , " We also have a room with a king-sized bed , several loveseats , and two couches ." 75 Annalise said , " A bathroom with a double shower , a huge bath tub , and cabinets full of towels , more cabinets full of toiletries , and a golden toilet ." Tiffany said , " Least thrilled with the toilet ." Garret laughed . Annalise said , " A restaurant for every kind of food - American , French , Italian , Mexican , Chinese , Vietnamese , German , Turkish , Greek , Norwegian , Spanish , and many more ." Garret said , " Each place has a famous chef native to that place ." Tiffany said , " Wow ." Annalise said , " Isn’t it great ? " Tiffany said , " Annalise , do you know how to cook ? " 76 Annalise said , " Of course , but Garret would get lonely without me wouldn’t you sweetheart ? " Garret leaned in closer to Annalise and said , " You know I would , my love ." Annalise smiled . Tiffany said , " You two are so cute together ." Annalise said , " Thanks , I just wish Bethany felt the same way ." Tiffany said , " She’s jealous ." " Garret was just starting to like her and then you show up and Garret likes you instantaneously ." Annalise’s eyes got bright . Tiffany had made her mad . Garret looked angry too . 77 They both grew angrier by the minute . Annalise’s skin began to glow and her eyes turned into flames and she grew to her full size . Tiffany realized what she’d said and said , " Wait , Annalise , I didn’t mean it that way ." " You know yourself you and Garret are perfect for each other ." " Just because Bethany ’s jealous - it doesn’t change the fact that you and Garret fit together like a puzzle - and I am not taking sides ." " Of course Bethany is my friend and I want the best for her but you are my best friend too and I can clearly see that Garret is beyond perfect for you , Annalise ." Annalise returned to her normal self and the anger melted away from her eyes and they were replaced with pure gratitude . Garret ’s face turned to its normal color at the same time Annalise lost her glow . Annalise smiled , " You really mean that , Tiffany ? " Tiffany said , " Of course ." 78 Annalise said , " I’m sorry we got mad at you ." Garret said , " Yeah it just sounded like you were applying I should lay off Annalise because Bethany liked me first ." Tiffany said , " No , not at all ." " I think Bethany will find her perfect guy she just thought it was Garret ." "But he is only perfect for Annalise ." Annalise looked at her again and said , "So sorry , I can’t believe I was about to vaporize you ." " I never would have forgiven myself ." " Do you want something to eat ?" Tiffany said , " Sure ." Annalise asked , " What food do you like ?" Tiffany said , " I like Italian ." Garret said , " Follow us ." 79 Soon they arrived at an Italian restaurant . They ate while they talked . Tiffany said , " The food is fabulous and so are the cooks ." They finished eating and went to the guest room . Annalise said , " If you ever want to visit ." Garret said , " We have a family room too - full of games ." Annalise said , " And we have two more guest rooms and two more master bathrooms." Garret said , " We also have a study but we don’t use it very often and a living room with several loveseats , and two couches , a 60 inch flat screen , bookshelves , a golden carpet , rocking chair , two chairs , and a fireplace ." 80 Annalise said , " And our dining room with a table and chairs , we hardly ever use it because of the restaurants ." Garret said , " The kitchen - we haven’t used it yet ." Annalise said , " It really is our dream home ." Garret agreed , " Yes it is ." Tiffany said , " It is a gorgeous home , alright ." Annalise asked " You know you , Tiffany , do you want to spend the night here and leave for camp in the morning ?" Tiffany said , " I think it’s a great idea ." Garret said , " But won’t Chiron wonder where we are or what happened to us ." Tiffany said , " You’re right ." 81 Annalise said , " Let’s Iris - message him ." They did and Chiron appeared . Tiffany said , " I’m fine ." " I’m with Annalise and Garret at their house spending the night here ." " We are all heading there in the morning ." " Hold up a minute Annalise wants to talk to you ." Annalise said , " I was at orientation with Garret and these two empousai who attacked us and I killed one but the other exploded into flames ." Chiron said , " The more powerful ones can do that - she escaped ." " Garret was lucky to have you with him ." " Empousai are creatures that feed on the blood of boy heroes ." " Girls don’t fall under their spell ." The mist rippled and the image faded . Annalise said , " Garret , show , Tiffany , to her room , I will be waiting in the pool ." 82 Garret led Tiffany to the master guestroom with a bathroom attached . Meanwhile , Annalise had put her bikini on and was in the pool waiting for Garret . Garret said , " Annalise ." Annalise replied , " I’m in the pool , sweetheart ." Garret appeared and did a back flip into the pool and landed right next to Annalise . Annalise said , " Show - off ! " Then she turned around and kissed him . They fell asleep like that arms interlocked kissing . At 10 :00 in the morning , Tiffany said , " Annalise , Garret , where are you ?" 83 Tiffany searched every room but there was no sign of them anywhere . Could they still be in the pool ? Tiffany headed to the pool . Tiffany called again , " Annalise , Garret , where are you ?" Annalise and Garret were awake kissing underwater so they did not hear Tiffany . Finally Tiffany reached the pool and saw them . Tiffany called again , " Annalise , Garret , come out it is 10:00 in the morning ." Garret and Annalise still didn’t hear Tiffany . Tiffany decided to go in after them . 84 Tiffany dived underwater but she couldn’t swim . Tiffany said , " Help Annalise , Garret …I’m drownin…" But this time Annalise and Garret heard her and rescued her and set her down on the floor by the pool . Annalise panicked , " Tiffany say something … anything … anything at all ." " Tiffany we need you … don’t die ." Tiffany coughed and spluttered . Tiffany murmured , " Annalise …" Annalise said , " She’s still alive , get some ambrosia , Garret ." Annalise said , " Its okay , Tiffany ." " Please don’t leave me ." Garret brought back some and gave it to Annalise . 85 Annalise said , " Tiffany , open your mouth ." I could see it took all Tiffany ’s will power but she opened her mouth . Annalise poured in some ambrosia and Tiffany ’s eyes opened . Tiffany said , " Annalise , Garret ,thank the gods ." Annalise said , " Are you okay, Tiffany , you almost drowned ." Tiffany said , " I’m fine ." " What’s for breakfast ." Annalise said , " Whatever you want at the breakfast bar ." Then they led Tiffany to the Breakfast Café . The Breakfast Café had everything - cereal , pop tarts , pastries , doughnuts , breakfast burritos , granola bars , and lots more . 86 After breakfast they did their morning ritual . Tiffany drove to camp . Annalise and Garret sat together in the backseat of their Camaro and they started kissing again . Tiffany saw them and she just smiled and said nothing . Finally they arrived at Camp Half Blood . Tiffany sighed , " Okay you two crazy lovebirds." " Annalise, Garret, you can stop kissing now ." " We are at camp ." Annalise and Garret unlocked arms and stopped kissing . They both looked at Tiffany ashamed . They both said , " Sorry , we didn’t mean anything ." 87 Tiffany said , " It’s okay , I completely understand ." " You are in love there is nothing wrong with that ."
