The quaker rice "cakes" seem more like rice crackers or cookies to me. I eat them because I cannot eat bread. But I have had real rice cakes, from Korea. There is a big difference.
There are many different kinds but the ones I like taste much better. They are moist and a bit sticky, basicaly rice dough. They have a red or mug bean paste filing that is actually sweet. Other types are a bit bland and some seem dry.
If you feel like trying some they are half round (round and tthen folded) , some white some green. Don't let the green turn you off, it's just spinach ground in with the rice. I actually like them better than the whtie ones.
No milk or wheat for me. I guess it was kind of fait to intoduce me to Asian food and a Korean wife. I know exactly what you mean about picky. I have to be too. I read everything carefully and try a little at a time.
My daughter has an uncanny ability to taste vegitables and hambeurger. She hates both. She is very fussy when it comes to food. She likes medium spicy foods best. Pepperoni and rice seem to be her favorite. The "experts" tell me that is common with Aspergers Autism (which they say she has).
