Thanks very much for the nice compliment. The area actually is very nice, homey, and diverse within a very short distance. The valley is lush with waterway, large hills, plenty of rural area not far away - within walking distance, actually - and we have a pretty safe environment where one needn't worry about walking in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong part of the day; several parks and stores that carry most anything the average person would need.

As you know by now I am closer to the city but still in a very residental area just 25 minutes or so from Manhattan. All the very best to you and again thanks for accepting my request. I look forward to our friendship my fellow New Yorker ! :))
Sure, especially if you get out to some place like the desert with no big buildings around. If the sky is clear then you can really see the stars shine.
Oh yes. I remember a job I used to work at back in Tucson AZ. several years ago. I was in the barricade business and I was the night service man. Well, we had 1 job that was out at the observatory that I would service up and it was up high in the mountains. Every time I went to service that job I'd take a lunch break so I could just look at the stars. They looked like they were so close that you could almost reach out and grab a few.
if i had a balcony or rooftop i could put that on, it'd be worth saving up for - i'd love to have that so mark it down on your list of what to get me this christmas...or anytime soon lol.
It's the CPC1100. Great telescope however in all honesty I'd get the 9.25 our the 8 if I bought one again. It's slightly too large for travel. The telescope alone weighs 60 lbs. Not exactly travel friendly.
Not if you're hand carrying it, lol. Well, I envy you your purchase; as a first piece of equipment, I'll likely go with something less pricey, but I'm always going to be whipping myself for not buying into the computerized Deluxe HD models for the clarity and distance advantages.
