I like Johnny Depp. But I can't believe that Depp is going to allow Tim Burton turn "Dark Shadows" and the Character of Barnabas Collins into a comedy and a joke of out of the original series. It's a crime because the original 1966–1971 horror soap opera was far from a comedy. It was serious through out the series with ghosts, vampires, witches, werewolves, (Quentin Collins), fanatics, irate villagers, and of course the victims who didn't believe such things exist until they were bit. This, along with Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Hitchcock Presents were the forerunners of Angel and Supernatural. In fact, I'll does so far as to say Angel is Barnabas Collins updated because Barnabas didn't want to be a vampire and was desperately seeking for a cure of his curse.

I'm actually looking forward to it. Then again I wasn't a dedicated fan of the previous series. I love comedies in generally but horror/vampire comedies have always been really funny. The Lost Boys is one of my all time favorite movies. And Suck is really funny. Suck oddly enough has Alice Cooper in it as well. He was some sort of ultimate vampire demon. Though I don't know the extent to which he appears in this new movie.
