First time I ever ate a piece of ice-cream cake, I didn't like it. But then later on somebody had a birthday party and they served one and, wow, it was delicious. So since that time I've eaten ice-cream cake about maybe a dozen times total and have enjoyed it each time. Don't buy it for myself, mind you, but enjoy it when served at a party by others.
we took a bunch of ice cream sandwiches, then covered the top of them with chocolate pudding, put another layer of ice cream sandwiches on top of that, and covered that layer with cool whip, and froze it for about 4 hours and then we ate it
ooooooooo! Now this sounds absolutley YUMMMY!!!!! I love ice cream sandwiches!!Before, one ice cream sandwich would be enough for one person. But now days, the companys make the ice cream sandwiches sooooo smalll and skinny!!!!! And it cost more per box!!! I would rather eat your ice cream cake!!!!
Geeze, I hope you weren't hurt badly? The cat must have been attracted by the creamy smell of the ice cream. I usually drop my ice cream on myself, so I wear a napkin whenever I have some ice cream............my dogs love to sit near me when I'm eating..........
I think I'll be a bit more careful when I'm eating my khalua fudge ice cream from now on. My dog LOVES the fudge and whipped cream topping on my ice cream. I value my lips!!!! I'm glad you didn't need to see a plastic surgeon after the cat bit your face. Cat bites are REALLY SORE!!
I didn't know Dairy Queen has their own ice cream cake! With my birthday coming up, at least I now know where else (besides Safeway and some bakeries) to look for my cake and ice cream, and maybe a "small" ice cream cake. (it has to be small to fit in the freezer) Remember those little ice cream cups we had in elementary school? My older sister buys them and cupcakes for her grandchildren for parties . The larger size cake is usually too big and no one wants to take the left overs home.........too much sugar for the children. I don't know why, but my grandniece and grandnephews aren't too fond of ice cream cake. But they LOVE the little ice cream cups!!!!
Probably because they are small like them, they were good. Even tho I work for safeway I do NOT recommed their birthday cakes they aren't even made fresh in the stores anymore and they are way too sweet!
I don't think I'll be buying my cake from Safeway! Thanks for the info. I have a few more weeks to decide where to get my cake from. I KNOW I don't want a cupcake with my ice cream!!!! Too messy for me!
I wanted to have a Red Velvet cake, but the bakery, "Napoleon's" said that they don't take orders for cakes, UNLESS it's the 'CAKE OF THE MONTH.' Eh?????? So my hunt goes on!!!!!! What kind of cake would you choose for your birthday? Besides an ice cream cake?
The Red Velvet cake may be hard to find, so I "might" be making my own cake: a rum cake. (i do love red velvet cake!!!! maybe my sisters will buy me the cake for my birthday??????)
August 14. I'm going to say prayers and throw salt around me so I don't have a migraine attack on my Day! I didn't know Duncan Hines has their own "Rum Cake" mix! They make it easier for us to do to our own baking!!!!!
Oh! That's so good!!!!! A friend of mine gave me her Red Velvet cake recipe, and my cake came out sooooo DRY!!!!!! (very embarrassing when she tasted my cake) It's so nice that I can BUY the Red Velvet cake mix!!! I can't possibly screw it up this time!!!
A little tip, when you mix the ingredients together don't use a spoon to cream it use you hands even the eggs after that you should have nice smooth batter.
See! It's these "secret tips" that aren't on the box, that depends on how your cake will turn out!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! (now i won't ruin another cake!!!)
I feel like baking something: rum cake or bread pudding. The bread pudding is going to require a lot of mixing. And I'm sure it'll be so much easier using my hand instead of a wooden spoon!!! BUT FIRST: I'm going to put your baking tip into my recipe folder!!!!! Thank you Shadow76!!!!!
We can make Red Velvet cookies too?????? MAN! I've GOT to get out more!!!!! Thank you so much for all this info! I don't go out much, so I'd probably miss all these mixes that I haven't heard about before. If you have any other baking ideas, please let me know. I'm going to start baking again, so whatever info you can share with me ahead of time would be most appreative by me!
Now I remember! I used to find recipes in "Good Housekeeping" and "Red (?)" magazines, while sitting in my doctor's office. Our Wednesday newspaper has a food section, but doesn't always have the baking tips that you gave me. And when I was working, I got recipes from co-workers, but I'm retired now. I like to try recipes from people who have already tried them, so I know what to expect, and if I did something wrong when preparing the mix! I hope I can more recipes to try! Thank you!
it was pretty delicious :)
I would rather eat your ice cream cake!!!!
