I used to live in VA Beach. Depending on the girls ages you might want to be careful taking them to the main beach... guys there seem at times are horndogs and can cross the line at times... usually when it start getting dark. Usually during the day it's not too bad, though you can always randomly come across one or two.
well my kids stay rather close to me. my youngest is 6 so she wont be away from me at all, my oldest is 14 and if any guy tried crossing any lines with her she would take a few of his teeth and maybe a finger or two as souveneirs... lol I taught her well. when we took my son last summer, we wouldnt allow him more that a few yards away... it is too crowded and the current can be strong, so they stay close to mom
Yeah I hated going to the main beach because it was usually too crowded (and over priced, with everyone trying to get money). Usually I tried to find a better less crowded beach.
Though that can be hard to do, not knowing the area, plus private property and military property in the area.
awe that's very cool :) not sure if you or your hubby are in the military or not but I've heard there are some decent military beaches. Where there is less people (cus you need proper ID to get on base).

I love it just as the sun begins to set, no bodies on blankets, no hot, searing sun, no burned feet from the hot sand and cool, calm lapping waves.
