Journal and diary is the same thing.

I write down thoughts on scraps of paper and keep them locked in a tin box. When I die I will give it to my children and they will find some interesting things in there. I also keep a travel journal so I remember all of the places I've been and things I've done. I think everyone should keep a journal, because one day when you're old, you'll wish you could remember most of your life and you won't be able to.

journals are to record information and diaries are more for feelings thoughts and dreams.

It's too much work. But I keep a travel journal for some of the places I go.
