Do you have actual pictures of yourself in on your profile page, or simply pictures off the net?

I'm sure we've all seen some really interesting pictures on profile pages of our fellow Sodaheads. Ok I do have some pictures I got off the net, but do have actual recent and older pictures of myself and my family. And in my main profile picture there is one of my worn out old fat ass with my 3 grandkids from last Thanksgiving. Not exciting or glamorous, but it is real and not a cartoon figure from the internet. So I am looking forward to seeing responses from my fellow Sodaheads.

I never post pictures of myself on the internet.Just like I never post my phone number,address,pics of my house,my kids,etc.I don't see it as misleading,just cautious.

Other than the pirate flag and the Wolverine pic I have on my profile the rest are all mine. I took most of them except the ones of me personally. But those pics are of me as I am now and then. They weren't copied.

Yes, my pic was taken at Bohai Honda on US1. We were leaving Key West and stopped for a little swim at the lagoon there. Wonderful time!

I am not a fan of avatars. I think if you are going to editorialize here, mock or criticize someone else's opinions you should have the decency of representing yourself honestly. Otherwise, I take all comments with a grain of salt. Even if it isn't represented in the answer, at least represent who you are accurately within your profile.

All professional writer who do publish editorializations within periodicals display their own picture. I see no reason to differ from that standard.

We get may answers here about why some choose not to reveal their real self. Mostly they say it is because they are afraid of reprisal from the loons here. I asked this same question many months ago. Glad to see people keep asking.

Picture of myself. Since I am sure of the security and privacy of the site, it is ok. I do not think pictures are a good idea on Facebook or other sites.

I just have the generic picture. I admire you for putting the real deal. To tell you the truth, I'm kind of intimidated by some of the pictures I see from others. Not that I'm ugly or anything, in fact, I think I'm more than average in terms of good looks. But I'm pretty ordinary, not like some of the glamorous pix I see on here. I'm sure some of them are very "unreal" but still, it's a risk putting yourself out there.
My husband, who is in the computer field, told me not to do it because someone can take your face and photo shop it on the body of a stripper or something. I said."and that's a BAD thing?" As long as they don't put my face on a frog or something! LOL!
Maybe I'll put up a real pix as I get more comfortable with the idea.
