In the event that I can't spell something, I like spell-check because it's useful. My spelling is pretty damn good though.

I can spell perfectly well but there are occasional typos (fat fingers!)which get picked up by it.

I can't understand why everyone isn't using it. If you can't spell it helps you out and if you can it picks up mistakes.

It's not intrusive so how is it annoying?

Some words are difficult to spell and I don't mind correcting them. Better than looking ignorant.

Why would anyone be annoyed with spell check? If you spell well, you don't need it except for an occasional word. If you don't spell well, it seems you should be thankful there is a program to help you not look like an uneducated idiot.
