i used to freeze up and stutter a lot, but then i took a debate class and now i just get a little nervous beforehand but i am fine during whatever it is
For weeks and weeks of practice and all day of the 'moment' - but once the curtain is up, so am i! That last deep breath in, then slowly out, my head clears, the lights come up or i walk onto stage and i become. - - - i live for those moments

It works better the other way around for me... just saying... it's like baring ones soul up there at times - if i can move that fear from soul to body and know that i'm doing things up there that few can or will do, it eases my fears and calms me...
Not after the first time I was on a stage. About one minute into the speech I was relaxed. I had to tell myself, we are all people, no one better than anyone else.
