LOL.."weird little man child". Good one. O.k. here's my reply:
Oh boo hoo. I turn 50 in a few months. Wait until you wake up with a sore back. Not because you did anything unusual. Just normal sleeping made you sore, LOL...No THAT is a shock.
I'll let you on a secret though. All in all my 40's have been the best part of my life. You're old enough not to care what anyone thinks but you have the experience and wisdom to deserve to feel that way. I looked better at 40 than I did at 25 though that is changing these days. As for feeling 17? That doesn't go away. Some of that joy and insecurity stay with you no matter how old you get.
I'm curious to see what my 50's bring. I'll let you know. :-)
Do you ever forget that you're not as young as you used to be, and then get depressed when you remember that you're not as young as you used to be?

I feel like the same person now as I did when I was 17, until I look in a mirror. I'm seriously thinking of breaking every mirror in my house. Obviously this question doesn't apply to teenagers, you lucky bastards who still have your whole lives ahead of you! Still feel free to answer though. Maybe you feel like you're a six year old?

Chris- Demon of the PHAET 2012/08/06 12:01:29No. I don't care, and you shouldn't either you weird little man child.

I personally have worked a hell of a lot for what I have, even paid my house off a few months ago but sadly would give it all up to go back to being a teen with nothing but youth.
Have a nice day !
But the older I get, the less it bugs me.
That half-century mark was passed some time ago ..
and nowadays ..
the fact is .. I wear my Grey Hair proudly ..
and although the body is a bit slower in moving ..
a tad more aches and pains .. (some pops and clicks too from age!)
Needless to say ..
we are as YOUNG as we feel ..
the mind is active ..
let the mind ROAM .. (and lead you to fascinating thoughts and ideas .. )
and now ..
in my Retirement ..
I'm having fun indeed ..
(Especially since the children are all grown .. out on their own and I'm FREE to enjoy the REST of my life!)
And me, I've been living in this world for 17 years. Hm I'm not really proud or even lucky to be young. I wish I could be as old as my Mom now. Yeah, it's so damn weird. I dont know why, maybe because I'm lil bit dissapointed with my generation and I keep thinking that I'm more mature. But, it's okay right. Let's just try to be thankful for everything we all got. Stay young, Tom R 007 <3
Having said that, I am thankful that I grew up in the 80s and 90s where we actually had some really decent music. I feel sorry for you kids with the crap that's produced nowadays.
Thanks for your comment :-)
I hope it gets better for this current generation.
I am a huge Michael Jackson fan as well as a Queen fan. I love Led Zeppelin. Those are my top three artists as well.
I can't stand most of today's music. I have to deal with girls my age going gaga over Justin Bieber(eew, hate his music and he is overrated), One Direction(another eew,an overrated talentless boy band that girls my age love because of their ''looks''), Nicki Minaj(more like *****y Minaj to me. Her music has way too much profanity and negativity), Lil Wayne(another one of those talentless rappers whose songs degrade women and has profanity), Taylor Swift(not a fan) etc.
I only like Adele, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Eminem, and a few others of MY musical generation. There is good music out today but it isn't as popular or mainstream.
P.S. You are so so lucky that you grew up in the 1980s and 1990s.
I want to be a famous author one day and I am making my story set in the 1980s
Unfortunately almost all mainstream music these days is overrated. Back when I was a kid I listened to the bands you mentioned (Led Zeppelin, Queen etc) but also bands like The Beatles, which was music that my dad listened to when he was younger.
I hope you have success writing. I'm a writer, although I mainly write poetry and play scripts.
Yes,most of today's mainstream music is overrated and most of the singers lack talent. Adele, Bruno Mars, Eminem, 3 Doors Down and Train are exceptions as well as a few others.
But none of them hold a candle to Led Zeppelin, Queen and Michael Jackson.

Ahem, ok, ready. No, I don't ever forget how old I am. Yes it gets damn depressing when I look in the mirror (no need to go into details about what I see in that scary reflection). When I go to stand after sitting for a while, I feel like the tin man who needs to be oiled to get the old joints moving. And if I didn't have those two as reminders, I always have my daughters' as back up voices reminding me that I am not so young. But I quickly remind them that I may be old(er) but I still got it going on! To which, they roll their eyes and laugh. Not sure why, but anyway....
I'm very young at heart & I refuse to let that go. Once I, or any of us let that go, we might as well throw in the towel. It's the one thing that helps to keep me from feeling completely terrible about it. And besides man child, you're only 31! You're still very young!
I always forget how old I am because (apart from being a little wiser and more confident in myself) I feel no different than I did when I was in high school. Might have something to do with the fact that I play for a living?
