I am a night person, but I will get up in the morning and function well provided I receive my two cups of coffee! 8 hours of sleep is usually enough! I guess I should have answered no!
At one point in my life approx 2 decades ago or longer I did feel Sleep was my drug and escape but my alarm clock being the police was never a way of life for me. I liked to drink too much at a young age but all dealings with police in my life were good ones; or at least justified in the sense I was guilty of Speeding. The sleep as an escape was bad and addictive. Never felt rested and ofcourse it was NOT a solution. I worked thru the depression and problems I had and now lead a mundane; boring, safe and so-so normal life!
I admire you so much, just based on that. I'm where you used to be (minus the alcohol, police and speeding). I'm working on getting where you're at. :-)
Well if you are not into the drinking you are already ahead of what I dealt with. What really helped me was what is called Tough Love. My mother made it clear that life is not just about what you want but rather it is more about being all you can be for the ones who love you and think the best of you even if you do not. They expect better of you so if you are negative and think it will hurt no one but you then you are wrong. It hurts those who love you more than you know when you do wrong or less than what you can or should do. If you no longer feel like doing for yourself then do it for the ones who love and defend you in their own minds and life.
