I drink tap water without wearing tap shoes. However, I prefer to drink distilled water and go so far as to put distilled water in my coffee machine. I shower with tap water. I wash my car with tap water. And, I sprinkle the lawn with tap water. I am just a little prejudiced.

Get distilled water in a glass jug. There's a breakage deposit.

or a machine to make it by the glass or cup...

I run it through a purifier before hand but yeah I drink tap water.

Do I drink it direct from the tap. NOPE.

My well water has been tested and I live in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Trust me, the water is great.

Well, Starman, that's the right way to go--tested--every year they say. I know that such water is probably really good tasting. How did I get set on distilled water, except that I don't live in the Rockies.

Don't drink straight tap water, the taste is disgusting.
