I think everyone lies, one way or another. I tell people for me, I do not like to lie. I would rather tell the truth even if it hurts me. But like anyone I am fully capable of lying.

They are referring to big fat mean lies - and most of us do not do that. Most of us forget all the little lies we tell every day - "Do you like my new blouse?" You don't but say "yes, the color (trim, style etc) is great" -- "Do you thing Bill is cheating on me?" You know but say, " I don't know, what makes you think that?" Are those mean spirited lies or attempts not to hurt?

The truth is a mighty weapon in things that really matter but that sword of truth can stab a friend through the heart -
