Oh, some people can be quite imaginative. Usually the expectations are those they learned from their own socialization...examples include; being 100% faithful, never telling a lie, always being there when your needed no matter what; being the person your expected to be; staying the you others are familiar with; not changing the status quo...
...mostly what we expect from those we love & rely on but when violation of the condition would equate to loss of that love...yes, wondering how strong it was in the first instance.

Thanks Apache...you've just made it clearer to me as to why my life has been empty all these years, not because of my expectations but there's.
There is only one thing in the entire universe that is constant and that is change itself...I've always had the ability to adapt to change but never been lucky enough to find someone the same.......soon I hope!! ;)

Most of us aren't as flexible as we would like to believe, change is seen as the enemy & feared. Life also goes through it's own phases, you may move towards a place where stability is less uncomfortable. What I'm saying is we all evolve & if it's evolving with someone else there will always be a degree of acceptance required.

I believe in going to the limit for loved ones, to be there for them through sickness and in health, to give one's best...and that's exactly why I don't believe in unconditional love as an absolute. I believe in love that's close to unconditional love but people need to know expectations, boundaries, what okay and what's not.

Without that, love can often fall into dysfunction and abuse.
