I'll put it this way.... I don't believe in some divine, or cosmic force as being behind a "miracle". I've seen plenty of things that defy the odds, but I don't know if I'd call any of them "miracles".

One example.... 5 1/2 years ago, my mother-in-law suffered cardiac arrest. In most cases, the chances of regaining a heartbeat after around 4 minutes is extremely rare (less than 10%) and each second after that brings those odds down drastically. Yet, her heart was stopped (according to the timing of the 9-11 call & the clock in the hospital) anywhere from 9, to 16 minutes before it finally began to beat again.

Sounds like a miracle, right? In fact, several family members were incessantly singing praises of Jesus. The problem, however, was that her episode caused such severe brain damage, that she was left in a Persistent Vegitated State & never recovered. Unable to see, hear, or communicate with anyone, in any way. 3 months ago, she passed away as a result from being pulled off of the ventilator that she could not "live" without. I don't even need to go into the detail about the family feuds that resulted from this tragic event either.

So no.... I don't believe in "miracles".

    Signs and Miracles

Supernatural signs have changed the course of history many times. Medjugorje’s magnitude is such that it has changed and is changing not only history, but the present and the future course of the world, dramatically, even more so. There were many signs and miracles that manifested publicly in the beginning years of the apparitions in Medjugorje (Croacia). There are still many people who still witness these signs today...

    The Mysterious Rosaries
    Mirjana’s Watch

On June 25, 1981, Mirjana asked Our Lady for a sign to that other people would believe that they were seeing Our Lady. Our Lady smiled. After the apparition, Mirjana noticed that the time on her watch went backwards.

    Rosaries Turning Gold

Rosaries turning gold is a miracle that a multitude of people have seen happened.

    MIR

The word MIR in Croatian means peace. One day all the villagers present in Medjugorje saw the word MIR written in the sky.

    The Spinning Sun

One of the most talked about signs in regard to the apparitions of Medjugorje is the spinning sun.

    Signs Witnessed on Cross Mountain

The Cross disappearing, and then a silhouette of Our Lady appearing, and the turning of the Cross are a few of the different signs witnessed on Cross Mountain.

    Other Signs

There have been many other miraculous signs witnessed through the years, such as a fire on the mountain that didn’t consume anything and an beautiful event that was witnessed by all those present during an apparition on Apparition Hill one night.

Our Response to the Signs of the Time

God gives us signs and miracles as gifts to draw us closer to Him. It is important though to be balanced in how one approaches these signs. They are to be used to draw us to conversion.

    Vicka’s Healing

Vicka suffered greatly from a brain tumor for many years. Six months before she was healed, Vicka wrote about her healing.

    Testimonies of Physical Healings

Documented medically cures that have been reported and handed over to the parish of St. James

    Spiritual Healings

Physically cures are not the only type of healings that Our Lady has brought about in Medjugorje. Even more numerous are the spiritual healings, the healings of the heart.

I believe in miracles. We hear about the sixth sense. sometimes, we watch TV where there is some news about the sixth sense that attracts more attention of people. It can hardly be explained reasonably in science, but I believe that some of them may have its truth.we only have no answers of the problem.

Yes life is a miracle as it is antithetical to the second law of thermodymanics which states that all systems will run from a state of order to a state of disorder. Life and evolution completely defy the law as life goes from the symple to the complex

And as for examples? Well, when i grab my mobile and can talk to someone across the globe is one. Or when i look at my fridge that keeps everything fresh for me to eat whenever i want, or the simple perfection that is electricity, that makes all of that work. those are the MIRACLES of SCIENCE, LOGIC AND RATIONALITY.
But the one thing that completely baffles me to this day, is how in the bloody hell did i survive 2 tours in Afghanistan.

Yes. In one of Mitt Romney's speeches, the one on Lebanon, Ohio, he told of a Boy Scout class that had a special US Flag made and convinced NASA to allow it to go into space on a shuttle. This was when the shuttle exploded on takeoff. There were pieces of the shuttle found for months but no sign of the flag. Then, after months, the flag showed up...completely unharmed.
The last part of this speech was very emotional. If anyone wants to hear it, go here. The story about the flag is right at the end of the speech.

Absolutely NOT. At least, if by miracle you mean the suspension of the "Laws of Nature", a.k.a. the Principles of Operation of the Universe. The other definition, "a phenomenon that is to be marvelled at", is too easy to achieve. Neutron stars are perfectly marvelous instances of quantum physics and gravity. But if you presume the existence of one Almighty God, it makes no sense for said Being to suspend His own Laws. When a mere piece of computing machinery fails to execute its own principles of operation, it is flawed. I myself detected and reported such a flaw in one of IBM's early System 360 computers. If there is no God, then the question answers itself.
But if you have the Olympic pantheon, where Zeus deposed his own father, then those gods could perfectly well show their superior strength by defying their predecessors' Laws.

I won't really call it a miracle, but off and on I see things I intellectually "knew" were not there. ( I've had head trauma, have neuro disorders, and take psych meds so this should be no surprise.) Then a friend suggested if I saw one of these " things" to use my cellphone and take a picture. To humor her I did. The damn thing was there. I don't know what it really is, where it came from or went, but
the cell picture shows it clearly.

I was married back in 1980 when I was 20. My then husband and I were told by doctors that we could not have children as both of us had physical problems producing. It was difficult for me to get pregnant and when I did I lost them. After 5 years of marriage I finally carried a baby girl to full term. I had to quit my job, my bowling league and basically just stop living. It was a miracle!! It happened again 7 years later and I gave birth to another girl. I would have 7 children instead of 2 today if I would have been able to carry them to full term. So yeah, they are both my miracle babies.

I do have an example. In January of this year I had to have major surgery. After several test a tumor the size of a baseball was discovered in my lower abdominal. One of the test required a large needle to be inserted into the area to draw out some of the cells of the tumor. It came back positive for cancer. I prayed and so did everyone in my church that God would remove the cancer. Two weeks later when I had the surgery the tumor was gone. The doctors were baffled and stated that tumors don't just disappear.

Not really a miracle in the sense of suspension of the regularities of Nature. Praying had nothing to do with it, as a major experiment has proved. Or you could take the observation that Britain's Royal Family, for whose health more prayers are said publicly than for more or less equally wealthy people, do not in fact enjy any better health.

I think a miracle is a miracle to the person that experiences it and if you perceive it to be a divine moment. It could be seeing a specific butterfly sitting on a gravestone that has a significant meaning to you or some one holding a gun against your head and the gun jams ... Whatever it is it is it for you in that moment.

Let me correct that: I have.

I cannot count the number of figurative bullets I have dodged in my lifetime. Or the bitter disappointments that turned out to be detours onto much better paths, or away from danger.

And if you want a general miracle to cite, then I cite the creation of life itself.

You and Thomas Paine are in agreement, except Paine cites the creation of the Universe, which includes the laws under which life arises from chemistry and physics. But Paine hasn't any respect for the organised religions.

I believe in miricles somewhat...I lived pretty premisuously in the 90s, beach town, parties,,etc...long story short fast forward 10 years....I had worked the past ten years as an electrician, bought a house, had a son and my past came up. I was feeling weker by the day and finally collapsed...taken to UNC and first 2 days weretouch and go and they were almost cretian I would die...I had meningitis and was diagnsoed w full blown Aids. Through modern medicine ad I beleive a miracle I was spared and this was 6 years ago...2 weeks ago I flew back home and actually went surfing again..a sport I grew up on...I also wrote a book called "My life, a life story of a man infected" and had it published on Amazon. So yea...I believe the world is full of little miracles....me being a small one...I never in a million years thought I could be infected..I was only with women and really not that many....but I do beleive I was spared if not to bust ass as an electrician , but maybe just to watch my 10 yr old son grow up and become a man:)
