Why would you want to destroy your own house just because of trivial stress? And how is destroying your organs, becoming an obnoxious turd, making an ass of yourself, and passing out an equation to a good time? I hear people talking about DUIs and hangovers as if it was just like sneezing. :|
I don't drink or do drugs because I treasure my brain cells.
That said, I don't want to forget the past. I like remembering the good parts and the bad parts can usually teach me something.
Good or bad, the past had everything to do with who I am.
I have tried drinking "to numb" in the past but it does not help me to forget or numb anything, if anything it intensifies my feelings.. same with pot, just makes me think more about it.
I don't drink much alcohol... perhaps a dozen drinks in a year.
And, as a matter of fact, I have several chronic health issues which I also use marijuana for.
I am diagnosed with PTSD, Fybromyalgia, Irritable Bowel, and Spinal Arthritis, for which, a combination of Ibuprofen and Marijuana is all that works for me.
To show you all how bad of a drunk I was (at one point in my life) I will give a little personal info...at one point I was so down and out that I would drink myself into the hospital! I actually did so on many occasions but the last time was my worst! My blood alcohol level was .73 !!! Most will die between a .3 and .4 but if you have built up a tolerance like I had for many years then you can go beyond the .4 and live to tell about it! The funny thing is that I know I had been higher than this before because I actually walked to the car and into the hospital and I remember the doctor telling my wife that it didn't look good! I am very lucky to be alive!
If you or someone you know has a problem (like I did) you have to stop, But only you will be the one to decide when! NO ONE ELSE can do it for you! jail, rehab, etc will only stop you for awhile if you haven't already decided enough is enough! Don't t...

Your loved ones are hurting too! Even if they have disowned you! They only do this because it is too hard to watch someone kill themselves! If it is over someone you used to date hen you need to find someone else or believe that there is someone else! I believe we all have that someone and all the crap we go through (with other relationships) helps us see how great that someone is!
here is a bible verse that helped me most
philippians 3-13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead
