I smoke cigars, OUTSIDE. My wife and I always sit outside, yes even in the cold cold winter. But I certainly can tell if someone smokes in their house as soon as I walk in the door, even if they aren't smoking at the time. It gets right into the wood work and it turns the paint on the walls a yellowish orange color. and there isn't anything you can do to get the smell out without a major scrubbing.
Nope, I like a nice smelling home and I'm sure my guests appreciate it too especially if they have children
I will allow them to smoke on my property, just not inside my house. If they don't want to smoke outside, they can go to their house, or to another person's house or private institution that allows it.
Definitely not... They can smoke outside... I hate the smell of smoke on any sort of cloth... And I see it as plain rude... When I used to smoke, I'd always go outside, even if I was over my friends and they smoked inside...
Depends though on who is around and I'd like to keep a window open. I would not allow the same person to smoke in my house all the time but every once in awhile, it's not too big a deal. Though personally if I did smoke I wouldn't do it someone else's house, seems a bit rude.
..I only have one friend that smokes ciggies, and he doesn't come by very often. I'd feel like a terrible host if I said "..no, go outside.." to ANY guest for ANY reason..
I don't even smoke in my house... thats why I have my Man Cave (Garage)... complete with fridge and sounds. If I get a hotel room I will try to get a smoking room if I can.....
Anywhere I am is a smokefree zone. Exceptions being outdoors. I won't deprive someone of thier vices outside where I can be upwind of the offending odors. I'm not militany about it unless it comes to my home.
When I smoked I never smoked in my house. Why would you mess up your own home with nicotine stains and second hand smoke for others that don't smoke to have to inhale?

I quit over a year ago and the smoky smell has dissipated.
