Okay people, I think its time we stop trying to demonize those who don't agree with us. No, Liberals are not socialist Marxists in disguise waiting to catch lady liberty with her guard down and no Conservatives are not hate filled bible worshipers looking to keep a hate filled mind while using Christ as a crutch. Maybe it's time we stopped trying to slander each other and just go through this debate with some shred of dignity and honor rather than fighting like high school teenagers spreading rumors.

Actually, I disagree. To be a liberal is as American as to be a conservative. There always is a ying and a yang. Whatever your definition of the two terms is, you'll find that if there is one, there will also be the other. One could make long lists, both as a conservative and a liberal enumerating all the detestable things for which one could blame persons otherwise inclined. I think there are extremist liberals and conservatives that make life more difficult for the rest of us. They live together everywhere, giving each other their daily bread, discussing every topic under the sun. I believe that true, courageous American patriots are and always will be left-wing, liberal, progressives. These folks believe in the promise of America, and believe that America can provide enough for all her people, including those who are unable to provide for themselves. They also don't mind doing a little extra work to help make sure that all of their countrymen are provided for.

I pity the poor right-wing souls who are so fearful or so insecure that they think there ought to be a slanderous term to describe helping one's neighbors.
