Do you agree that being liberal is un-American and the same as socialist communism?

Nope. I don't agree at all. America is all about diversity, being only one way, having only one mind set, which ever you think is right is un-american, and boring as hell.

Okay people, I think its time we stop trying to demonize those who don't agree with us. No, Liberals are not socialist Marxists in disguise waiting to catch lady liberty with her guard down and no Conservatives are not hate filled bible worshipers looking to keep a hate filled mind while using Christ as a crutch. Maybe it's time we stopped trying to slander each other and just go through this debate with some shred of dignity and honor rather than fighting like high school teenagers spreading rumors.

    No.

Because, you know, part of being an American means being free to have whatever beliefs you like. We're not a homogenous country, and we're all different. Our beliefs, convictions, whatever... are different.

Get over it. If you have a problem with diversity, move to an island.

Me and my ancestors were hear first. Illegal imigration started in1492. So you move to an Island......

Good for you. However, just because your ancestors were here first doesn't say a damn thing about current politics in the here and now. Your ancestry doesn't somehow brush-up your political affiliation. If you don't like the fact that people in America have, and are entitled to have, differences in beliefs and political leanings, then you should move, because you obviously can't handle the diversity.

If, however, you CAN lower yourself to handle the diversity, then by all means, stay.

It's not "un-American", America is about freedom of choice. Even if I personally don't agree with what many liberals belief.

Actually, I disagree. To be a liberal is as American as to be a conservative. There always is a ying and a yang. Whatever your definition of the two terms is, you'll find that if there is one, there will also be the other. One could make long lists, both as a conservative and a liberal enumerating all the detestable things for which one could blame persons otherwise inclined. I think there are extremist liberals and conservatives that make life more difficult for the rest of us. They live together everywhere, giving each other their daily bread, discussing every topic under the sun. The rest of us listen to them patiently, never really agreeing with either completely about anything. http://nationalconversation.t...

As you can see, it really is a woman's world. It comes to mind that I must be more of a liberal than I thought. Since I look mostly like this http://www.worldwidehippies.c...

If you think like that, then you are saying people should not live a liberated life. I thought this is a country of freedom which is the same as liberty / liberal, all the same.

I believe that true, courageous American patriots are and always will be left-wing, liberal, progressives. These folks believe in the promise of America, and believe that America can provide enough for all her people, including those who are unable to provide for themselves. They also don't mind doing a little extra work to help make sure that all of their countrymen are provided for.

I pity the poor right-wing souls who are so fearful or so insecure that they think there ought to be a slanderous term to describe helping one's neighbors.

The mark of a great society is how it treats its elders, its infirm, its mentally ill and its imprisoned.

NO! A Socialist and a Communist do not share the same philosophies or tactics. In fact, they are mortal enemies. A socialist is a "small d" democrat, who will work in a legislature with people of other opinions. A Communist is totalitarian, who violently suppresses all opposition.

I'm not undecided -- my answer is NO.

Do you seriously think that every soldier who has died in the service of our country was a political conservative?

What a one-sided biased poll. I've heard that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers -- this question makes that a very dubious premise.
