It depends on the request, when I see the "I noticed you on the leader board" thing then that is an automatic ignore request. If it is someone I have seen around on questions I've answered and stuff then I don't need to look at their profile I automatically accept.

Why would I want to be the friend to someone who gathers hundreds of friends just to pump up their ego and increase their long, long list of meaningless avatars?

On the other hand I might just admire the writings of that person for the real value they give to SH, now that person I would be proud to call Friend.

I do not friend people from the leaderboard requests. If I have never seen the person on the polls I watch and see how they answer questions then I either accept or deny. I have learned to be careful.

No, I always look at their profile first. Sometimes we are so far off in our opinions and political leanings that I don't think it would be a good idea. I don't want to be fighting all the time. So I send them a message telling them that we are very different but I would be happy to be friends as long as we are civil to each other...no fighting. Sometimes we friend each other sometimes we don't. I'm a lover not a fighter.

I don't understand it either ( the leaderboard ) and that's OK. I befriend all that ask, never denying even one. I will say that I have never asked anyone to become friends with me. This S.H. thing is new to me. Have fun. Did you know your name 'Tara' is Irish and means "The Halls of Heaven"?

Gaia or Ghia, Gaie , pronounced gay-ah is the Celtic word for earth. I may be wrong though. No one is ever so smart that they can't be wrong sometimes. In the movie 'Gone with the Wind', Scarlet O'Haras father named their plantation Tara.
