Do you accept or deny the friend requests you receive on SH without looking at the person's profile?

Not anymore, but in the beginning I did because I am totally computer illiterate and afraid to mess with the unknowns in computer-land. But more recently I've gotten bolder and now I do, in fact, check profiles. I think I have accepted pretty much every request, though. What the heck, I got on this site to exchange ideas with different people and if I just accepted people with my own opinions then where's the fun in trying to persuade people to come over to my side of an issue, right? I do believe I refused one request, though, but I can't recall why. Otherwise, everybody got the okay.

I usually look at their profile first that way I can have a general idea of the person and I make my decision whether or not to add them.

If someone sends a friend request I accept.
Sometimes I mouse over to see the quick popup info before and sometimes after. I only check their profile if something they ask or comment gives me a reason to check, or if I've exchanged multiple comments with that same individual and am curious who I'm discussing with.

I always check now to make sure we have compatible political views. At first, I let a few lefties in but they became maniacal and I had to defriend them. So now my motto is Lefties Need Not Apply.

Generally I'll accept without looking. It's not that important on here. I am a lot more discerning on other websites such as Facebook or Twitter before I follow back, following enough SEO companies.

None of those I think. But obviously some one just lost a big job because she had a facebook site giving her occupation as a domanatrix. Otherwise this site seems ok. Just dont give any personal information about your finances or your current work etc.

a accept pretty much anyone as long as it doesn't say "I saw you were a top _____ on the leaderboard. If they end up being annoying later I can always delete them.

I will take a look at a persons profile first. I will then discover what their opinions are on the questions they have answered if I can. I have discovered that many who claim to be liberals in their profiles all to often are really conservatives and vice versa. And they just do not know it. But not all are this way. Most are true to their profile.

I always check their profile. If they're the opposite end of the spectrum from me politically, I normally won't accept it. Of course, there can always be exceptions.

Depending on what is in it usually makes the decision. People who, for whatever reason, obviously lie in it are denied. By obviously I mean something like this. I saw one where the person was supposedly age 15, in high school, making 100K, retired and widowed !

That makes perfect sense. Someone, 15 and of course still in HS, married a very old person, person died --> widowed. Inherited a lot of money, so much money that the person doesn't need to work anymore --> retired.
