People who have real pain disorders have to go through much unnecessary song and dance because they have to prove that they are just 'drug seekers'. My husband and i both have pain disorders, we've been through all of this.

They make it harder for people with legitimate chronic pain to get help.

They've made it too hard to get strong enough pain pills when needed. Doctors just tell you to take extra strength Tylenol and Advil, which really don't work.

Very simple. Addiction to prescription pain killers, specifically narcotics, has made Doctors much more wary of prescribing it. They write very small prescriptions for it and people who have long term pain, say from R.A. or MS or other debilitating diseases find it very hard to get. Drug addicts hoping to "cop" a legal prescriptions flood the E.R. and it causes doctors to be more suspicious. Therefore people with legitimate pain find it hard to get the prescriptions. Ask someone who has a chronic pain issue how hard it can be to get pain meds.

Ahh... makes sense, then. I've been pretty lucky so far, only needing pain meds until they fixed the problem. Sorry to hear you're chronically in pain, and that it's such a struggle for you to get what you need. :O(

I am not in chronic pain. LOL... I almost never need pain meds, but I have seen people who do.

    But thank you.

I thought your last statment "ask someone who..." was referring to you! Glad to hear it wasn't-- you always ask good questions. :O)
