Do people complain too much about minor issues?

Everyday people have gripes. Sometimes they share them with their co-workers, family, friends or even strangers. When you listen to other people complain, do you feel that they need to get their priorities straight and see the big picture? Or do they have legitimate gripes?

During good times, we don't realize how good we have it and complain because humans need drama and tragedy.

Yes, but sometimes we need to just get things off our chest and need someone to tell. We may pick the wrong person, tho!

Like you said, every day people have gripes. Major gripes and minor gripes. Whether major or minor, they are legitimate gripes. What may be major to one person may be minor to someone else. If someone has what most would agree are minor gripes, and they always depict them as major, they have a problem. It is said that, if everyone threw their problems in a hat and had to pick one out, they'd want their own back. For the most part, people share their gripes, because it's healthy to let it out and get feedback.

Now, if you're taking about SodaHeads complaining about minor issues...

The problem is how do you define minor? Calling a gripe minor can be dismissive. I do think people complaining about things like say um, feature changes on wickedly fun FREE social sites is kind of minor. On the other hand I've been reporting our local forest that there are mt. bikers building their own trails, cutting down trees, disturbing Native American sites, and more (all illegal activities) and they just think I'm complaining. So I thin it's kind of relative.

And even many of those things a lot of people think of as big issues are actually quite minor ones. They should chill.

I think people feel their complaints are valid even though they may seem insignificant to others. When I have listened to chronic complainers most of the time they can resolve them, with a little help..

Mostly my co-workers complain to me about other co-workers. somtimes they complain to me on my day off....some days i will agree with them (mainly if the issue they are complaining about is a big issue) but most of the time i am annoyed that they are coming to me. especially on my days off...mainly i just dont care. if these people would just let all the little things go then they would be happier in their lives. PEOPLE LET IT JUST ROLL OF YOUR SHOULDER. the people you are complaining about arent dwelling on it then why let it ruin your day or week? LET IT GO!!!

We live such comfortable sheltered lives that people complain about minor issues because they have nothing better to do.

It has always been my philosophy that the only real problem in life is sickness, especially if a person has a phsically-ill or mentally-ill child. A great saying: "I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet."

people do complain to much, sometimes im guilty of it myself, aren't we all. but sometimes i think some people complain other than just to be complaining, i think they may need emotional, spiritual or some other type of help and that is just their way of trying to let someone know that they need your help.
so instead of thinking the next person is just complaining, maybe we should listen first, before we judge, we maybe able to help that person and solve a problem or save a life.

I think most people have it good and forget to count their blessings. I'm one of those people, I forget and gripe that my house is cold, I should be glad I'm not in a carboard box.

I do think some people complain about the minor things just so they can avoid the major things. It's easier that way. Then there are the people who have it so easy they think the minor things aremajor things. They are the people who need to see the big picture. Then there are some people who just enjoy grumbling. They are the kind of people I try to avoid because you can't help someone who enjoys being down.

However, someone may think their problem is huge and others may not think it's even an issue. It just depends on your prespective.

All I can say is that they must "need" to talk to someone. Maybe they have no "real" friends and no one to talk to in their everyday life. If it irritates you, stay away from them.

We really do sweat the small stuff.
I worked in an office at a Nursing Home / Rehabilitation Center. I met patients dealing with serious issues from birth. Some will never experience the most simple pleasures I / we have known.
It put my petty concerns into perspective! There before the Grace of God….

People who complain are part of the problem. You need to become involved and help solve the problem. Complaining wont solve anything.

    I know I do.

Frequently it is my emotions overcoming my reason. I seem to whine about subjects but after calming down I put them into perspective and I have to apologize to whomever I vented upon.

If you are one of these people, I apologize and I can't guarantee I won't do it again but I will try to keep my cool.

95% of the things that you worry about wont come to pass or wont be as
bad as you think they will be.
Here is a quote, but I don't know from whom, "Worry is nothing more
than interest paid, in advance, for something you may never own."
