Actually both of the above. It totally depends on the crowd and why I'm speaking. I loved speaking to several thousand demonstrators during the Vietnam War and I despised speaking recently to a group of businesspersons who wanted to make money.

Not initially.. but once started, and you can feel the energy of the crowd, and feed on it and build strength and momentum..... absolutely. It can be like a narcotic; once the shaking knees and voice are overcome....

I don't like it but I have to do presentations as part of my course. I've done 3 now, so it's getting easier. have learned it's all about being really well prepared.
I did have a freeze in the middle of the last one, but I managed to keep calm and just sort of clicked back on.
Yay for me:-)
