Recent increases in the rate of interracial marriage point to increased social acceptance of these relationships (Joyner & Kao, 2005; Lee & Edmonston, 2005).

As of 2000, nearly 6% of all married couples were interracial compared to fewer than 1% in 1970. However, a growing literature describing the challenges faced by interracial couples (e.g., Chito Childs, 2005; Dalmage, 2000; Killian, 2003; Lewis & Yancey, 1995; Root, 2001) suggests that crossing racial lines still violates enduring norms of who should and should not marry whom (Killian).
Demographic evidence further supports this hypothesis. What do you think? And why do you think it?

Just get to know him for himself, don't worry about the color of his or your skin. Is he a good person?

Rusty is one of the biggest idiots on SodaHead, so don't even waste your time. He has actually said, and I quote, "Race-mixing leads to bestiality."

Ya know, it's funny - I've always preferred girls of other ethnicities, but never once have I ever developed an interest in an animal. I guess that blows his ridiculous theory all to hell (though I highly doubt that he actually believes it himself).

Well in addition to his theory being ridiculous, I am half Black and White. My mother is white father is black, I guess I need to tell her since she is still alive that my dad was supposed to kill her before she had 5 kids by him. And I have always preferred white men, hmmmmm so where does that leave me??

Seriously I had to signup just to confront this guy.....I'm black and you see me killing my Fiance? She's Filipino, Chinese and Spanish from the Philippines and soon enough. Everyone kills regardless of skin color.

If they are in an accepting community they will last just as long as a reg couple.

you mean as any other couple, regular is not a good word as interracial couples have been since before slavery, during, and are still growing strong today.

I would say no, they don't necessarily last longer. Although, some interracial couples have to put up with a lot of bullsh*t which strengthens their relationship. White male/black female relationships actually show significantly lower rates of divorce.

I don't think the color of your skin has anything to do about it.

If feel they will not last as long because of the pressures from society, family and possible culture clashes.
