Do any of you have a background in politics ?

I am a member of a party, an activist and I have an academic policy and politics background.

I'm knowledgeable in politics because i'm a strong religious man, republican

I'm a member of the informed electorate.

Does giving a politician the finger count?

an independent voter all my life...will continue to be so too...bark

I have volunteered for one mayor, two state representatives, three congressmen, and one president so far. I majored in political science, concentrations in law, and international politics, and I have read (own) about 230 books on the subject, as well as philosophy. Later in life I intend on being more involved - assuming I haven't become entirely disillusioned with the non-thinkers that are currently being elected to run this 'government'. I'm not old enough to run for congress yet.

I despise politics...but I'm a master of the art.

If any one of us had real ties to politics we couldn't post freely or risk backlash on ourselves and acquaintances in govt.

I was involved in all sorts of Anti-apartheid movements they always ended in bloodshed and the loss of loved ones

5 years of college/grad level study, and 40 years of active voting and supporting various parties at all levels (local to national). It's almost an addiction.

Industry politics only. I sat on the board of directors In the billiard industry for 9 years. I also sat on the board of the ACA for 10 years. And yes there is plenty of politics going on in those industries. But not the same as in Washington DC.

A voter- I had always been interested in world history, US History, then the political agenda that is shaping our future. After warning everyone I could of the impending disaster when Obama 1st campaigned, & seeing every promise he made, not kept for 3+ yrs now, I see him making disastrous decisions for America, tanking us at every step,(also our allies) he's in bed with all the Arab/Muslim agenda's-giving them millions-to Pakistan who harboured bin Laden, & now the new Palestinian Gov't. that includes Hamas. Obama couldn't even put his hand over his heart, & say the Pledge of Allegiance, to the United States of America!!! How freakin BAD is that? Who'd vote for somebody like that?

So the question is-Who does he pledge his allegiance to, since it's not America?

You may have been interested in those things but you never did any serious study of any of them. Stick you pledge where the moon don't shine and go back to college before your brain rots. Politics is essentially life. Everything you do has an element of politics in it. The school play, the student council, operating within the confines of societies rules. Manipulating others to give you wealth for your actions. Any of these involve politics. Have I run for office? No way.

A researcher/speechwriter for a UK Member of Parliament between 1998-2010. I have been a Campaign Manager at every election, local and national, since 1993, until this year when, thanks to a Conservative government, we've been denied elections until 2015.

I actually don't, but my teacher said I should look into a future of politics... I honestly just laughed at her. The closest I'll get to that is activism, thank you very much.

I had a government job before I retired WB and I say the waste and mis-management from the inside. It also doesn't take a degree to see that the system is F****d

I will be a volunteer to re-elect Obama, re-elect a Democratic Senate and throw the dumbass teabagging republicans out of the House of Representatives. Also will be a poll worker on election day. I'm looking forward to turning down all the little old lady and old men republicans who don't have driver's licenses to vote on election day because the republicans passed a voter ID law in my state. Idiots didn't realize it works both ways. My kids will be out slashing the tires of republican neighbors too.
