(Non-human) animals have some limited feelings/emotions, however it is not comparable to the level or complexity of the feelings/emotions experienced by humans.
Have you never seen a cat or dog grieve over the loss of it's young, risk their lives to save their babies from fire or harm? Seen elephants when they come upon the bones of another elephant? Seen the joy on a dog's face when his master comes home from war? Or guilt when they've been caught doing something they know they shouldn't have been doing? How could anyone ever think they didn't??!!
Not as we know them. Yet, I think animals have senses of right or wrong.....my dog does when he gets in to the trash. Ha.
I also think that animals sense when you're down.
Of course animals have feelings, if they didn't they'd never be able to learn right from wrong, we teach them by making them by punishing them when they do wrong and rewarding when they do right.
Then when you catch them in the act of something wrong, you can see from their eyes that they're feeling guilty.
Do animals feel emotion, pain, anticipation, happiness, joy, neglect, devotion, longing, love, grieve, playfullness, lonliness, unconditionsl love...love to be comforted, love to comfort you, bring you joy, forgiving....simple answer YES. Treat them as you would like to be treated, even a lilttle more because we are their guardians. And, they are usually little enough to hold, cuddle and love! They respond in so many ways, open your eyes and heart, you would have to be cold and blind not to see that. The big ones, horses, elephants, giraffes and the or the little ones, birds, lil mice, all share an affinity for love, as they were created. So YES , animals have feelings and it is up to you to love and respect those feelings. Granted, they may understand and interpret things differently, but i think it is up to us to attempt to understand their level and how to best treat and communicate witwh them They try so hard to be good enough for us at "our level". Just love them, that's all.
So prokaryotic beings are now the same as eukaryotic beings? I understand the comparison (a kind of disgusting one at that), but it failed so badly through logic...
They're not always good.
