Hell no! After I divorced my 1st husband(with 2 kids) I got a job and bought my own.I didn't need or want my parents to buy me a car,I'd rather get it on my own.

I had a job and saved my money for a year and a half... then my aunt/uncle matched me dollar for dollar and basically split the cost of my first car.
Best deal ever!!!

I paid for 1/3 of it. The deal was, that my mom and grandparents would match every dollar I saved. I got a 1987 Suzuki Samurai. It was a piece of junk... six moths later, I sold it and got myself a 1980 Ford F-150 which I loved to death.

My grandfather bought me a used car when I was 16 or 17. Of course, he owned 2 cars, a jeep, a boat, and frequently bought cars for my cousin and mother, so that kind of explains it...

I didn't get my license until after I was 17, so my parents didn't buy me a car when I was 16. But they did buy my car when I was 18. The family car I had been driving broke down and I needed a car to get to college. They know this already, but I'm eternally grateful to my parents for buying me my car :D

My parents didn't have that kind of money, nor did they think it was beneficial to just hand me things like that. My parents did pay for my post secondary education though and for that I am very grateful. I think that is more valuable than a car.

Hah! I was lucky if they let me borrow their car. The first car I ever owned I bought myself, and I was in my 20s. I don't come from a wealthy family. Unlike my friends who got cars for graduation from high school, I got luggage.

I worked on the farm from the time I was 12 and was able to save enough money to buy my own car. Wasn't fancy but it was mine. 1959 Studebaker Lark

I bought one with the help of one of my loooonnnngggg ago gurlfriends way back when...ahahahah and it was a Datsun B210 2 door primed but 5 dollars of gas got me to China and back...LOL)))! maann those were the days, I miss that hooptie..ha!

Why would they? In England you have to be 17 before you can legally drive a car. We didn't buy cars for our boys either because we were worried that they might be encouraged to drive stupidly and get involved in a nasty accident. We did however pay for them to have driving tuition from reputable driving schools rather than allow them to be taught by thier friends. We wanted to be sure they were taught to drive as safely as possible.

I loved my first car,it was a beat up old pick up truck but it ran good.

No, I was allowed to use their car when they didn't need it. I bought my own car when I got my first job and paid for it myself.
