Did you have to stay outside as a kid?

We were allowed in the house to eat and use the bathroom but on non school days and after school , we had to play outside . What about your childhood?

I was forced to stay outdoors until dusk. Looking back now it rather bothers me. Estranged from my parents, it shouldnt be of surprise that they were not interested in doing family things together, and including me. I grew up being told "children should be seen and not heard" I was constantly dumped off at my Grandparents hoouse as my folks went out partying. My childhood sucked, but I make up for it now.

I was never forced to stay outside. I did enjoy being out there though.

It depended on what we wanted to do in the house. Sometimes we read books or helped with house chores. We loved being outside most of the time, though.

we wanted to play outside, if we stayed in the house to much we ended up doing chores, Not really a problem for us either way,

We were allowed to but our tons of friends were outside from morning till catching lightning bugs at night. Always a ball game to play. Who the hell wanted to be inside????

I suppose I was allowed to stay inside but I never did. I preferred to be outside. My dad bought me a military surplus enclosed hammock so I slept in the woods.

Came inside to eat and use the restroom and other than that I had to be made to come inside. I lived in the country and my cousins and I had the run of the land. I don't remember ever being bored.

We mostly had to be outdoors or in the playroom or our bedrooms. WE weren't allowed to harass our parents endlessly or hole up in front of the TV or video games.

We weren't allowed to *play* in the house but we didn't have to play outside. When in the house, I read. Except, occasionally, when my mother got on a "fresh air" kick and sent us out. Then, I'd go sit in the kennels with the dogs and read.

I don't know how "fresh" that air was but, at least, no one bothered me there. Heh, heh, heh.

I much preferred being away from my parents. That way, I could do whatever my father had forbidden...and I usually did. But, we're not a close family, in any case.

Once we moved to Florida, when I was small, I liked being outdoors but I seldom did "sports" things until I got older. Mostly, I pottered around studying "critters".
