Did you go through a traumatic experience as a child that has affected you thoughout your whole life ?

I had gone to the mall with my mom and some other adults (can't place their faces or names today). Anyways, we were all traveling down an escalator. When it came to be my turn, I took one step onto the escalator, my other foot stayed on the panel, when my sleeve got caught. So, while I'm trying to free my arm, I'm being forced into a steady split. I was terrified and sobbing by the time I got out and to this day, I will not travel up or down an escalator.

I read the bible, I became an atheist that very niight (I am now Gnostic now)

Now when someone ever wants me to explain how I choose not to be a Christian, I show them the bible. the results?

Some remain Christians.
some become atheists
Many become agnostics, or Gnostics.
By their own conscious choice, they choose who they wish to be spiritually speaking for the first times

And that, is something I enjoy. So reading the bible was an ironic blessing.

Apartheid i lived in a coloured area because my government said coloured people are not allowed in the rich white areas because of this i joined many political movements, i joined gangs and started uprisings against apartheid, i was arrested about once a week for involvement in protests and mass demonstrations and i was stabbed and shot at for what i believed in and what i believed in was equality and freedom and i fought even after the elections so that when i have kids they dont have to go through what i have been through

I was in a car accident when I was five years old, and my mother broke her jaw. I saw the blood pouring from her mouth and the mangled wreckage of the car. Ever since then I've been fascinated by car accidents and injuries.

My mom died when I was 8. My dad did drink then and sometimes hit me and my sister. She runned away (she was only 4), and I was left alone. This lasted for 3 year, but then my dad stopped drink and did all he could so I would forgive him. I did, and now we live happy, but the trauma inflicted in the 3 year will never leave me.

my mom died when i was 8, i never knew my dad, i've seen suicide too many times by the ppl i love, and the list goes on...

For starters, I was abducted off the street and sexually abused by my abductor. Then there are the beatings I got at home, and the even worse ones I watched my brother get. Sometimes I wonder how my life would have turned out if I hadn't made so many decisions while I was still haunted by those events.

i have been beaten up by someone and also a loved one. my ex would beat me everyday and when the day came that i was leaving him he tied to me to the bed and set the house on fire. if it wasnt for my ex being in the car i would have been burnt to death.

Shes 49, and dont laugh at me, shes like a bear. I wasn't even doing anything. There's a tiny glimps how F***ed up it is. And if you are wondering, no I'm not a punk :P.

Jaws and Predator when I was 6. I don't remember those movies affecting me all that much, but my mom said I had some nightmares, and to this day I find movies or storylines without the threat of death boring.

I was placed on this planet by two people who should have had court orders to be surgically sterilized. Which is the reason why I am not a parent, I feel piece of mind not to that to someone else.

parents were alcaholics before they got help and that had a affect on me and it helped me with my kids .

He should have gone to jail.

Instead, I was the one asked "are you sure?"

When I was asked to come home, to bury my uncle, my reply was a flat "no, he should rot in hell"... was actually the time family started to talk about "it". As it turns out, he had other victims. I know his wife died alone ... as she should. She had to have known, and even defended him.

I have not lived my life...but I know it has affected me. I had a horrible childhood...it was stolen from me. I couldn't play with my friends outside...I couldn't do anything! My mom and dad split up and my dad gained custody..after he met his new wife and we moved turns out his new wife did not like me because her lezbian daughter tried to make out with me so I went along then her mother found us... so for two years I stayed in my room , everyday after school. Having timed dinners... you know half the time I dont even remember eating dinner. My dad was pussy whipped. He let her do it to me. I couldn't come out when my dad was gone at his DAY long job.. so I couldn't pee....alot of other traumatizing stuff but I'm with my mom now.
Some people who know what has happened to me are very surprised when I yell at people for talking bad about my dad. I have forgave him for taking my childhood. I don't want to get older and find out that my dad died 5 years ago.....I just don't.
Like I said though everything is okay now :) :)
