They're quite pleasant to touch. I've held them many times. I have a neighbor that runs over to our house every time she sees a snake in her garage (often left open). None of them have been any of the poisonous kind. I just pick them up and take them to a field away from her home.

Snakes do an important job in the ecosystem, please don't kill them.

There's a tourist attraction in the next state called Reptile Gardens. You get to touch their anacondas and their crocodiles and alligators as part of the shows. It's pretty cool.

Usually to help them out of harm's way, but I have touched them other times as well.
I like them, and used to take one for a ride on my bike when I was a child; poor thing.

Was a boyscout, yes I have handled snakes. killing the poison ones. Too many copperheads and cottonmouths from where I grow-up.

a friend of mine used to have an 6ft boa constrictor. that was a cool snake, always just so humble and content. wasn't uncommon to just flop him on our backs and go like a dog that follows you around. eventually it grew to0 big to carry anymore but she ended up dying of some heart problem

A rule of thumb on snakes is that the ones with longitudinal, parallel to their length, lines or markings including green garden snakes aren't venomous. Dangerous ones have spots, crosswise or "X" colorings.

Cool and a little rough. I just can't stand the wiggling won't pick up caterpillars for that reason.
