I refused to. I will not be forced to cut a frog just for scientific reasons. I refuse to dissect anything. I don't care if they give me an F.

No, but we were supposed to dissect cats in my advanced biology class which I ended up not doing because I dropped out before we had to dissect them. I'm really not sure I could have done it anyway though.

A Fond memory of my High School Science classes ..
(although my Mother wasn't too thrilled we had this as "Homework" .. )

I think of this as one of the opportunities ALL Students should have ..
(the learning experience is priceless .. and cultivated more passion for a life-long interest in the sciences!)

Indeed .. (it wasn't the only animal we dissected .. we had to do several .. Pigs were another of the species we dissected (albeit in the classroom))

Yeah I missed out on the baby pigs we did in HS, I think i was conveniently absent for that one. I can't believe they made you do it at home!

YES .. we had to ..
(in order to mount the skeletal structure .. and identify the bones .. we needed to take them home and .. well .. you can then guess what we had to do there)

I left early so I wouldn't have to. I don't believe in dissecting animals. I could dissect a human no problem, because generally people give their bodies to science to be dissected. Animals cant give permission and I think it desecrates their bodies.

Well, other people did. I observed.
We also dissected an earthworm, a grasshopper, a sheep's heart, and a rat. I took part in none of these.
God, the rat made me cry. It had these little whiskers.....

Actually, I dissected a frog in the middle of my seventh grade year. It was interesting, but I felt bad for the poor thing.
